A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Morning Trouble! Sorry I didn't make it in to see you on Sunday for the fair. One day was all I could do. I only bought one record! Yay for me!
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:22am Trouble:

bonjour jennique! no biggie, i heard sat was CRAZEEE crowded! sun wasn't so bad...
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:24am Ike:

Yeah, I did Saturday and it was nuts. Walking the aisles was like being stuffed inside a turkey. Or a tofurkey if you prefer.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:30am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Someone mentioned yesterday that they would donate money to someone at WFMU (maybe a dj?) to be a personal shopper at the fair. After Saturday, I would happily pay someone to shop for me.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:34am Ike:

Sunday is better because it's much less crowded and more FMU DJs have tables, but the scum-sucking weasel-lickers at the Port Authority have slashed Sunday morning PATH service so brutally that Sat. seemed like a better option. I couldn't do both days. Next year maybe I will go w/Sun. even though I may end up sitting at a PATH station for 35 min. Or worse, driving.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:35am Trouble:

go on sunday!!! always is less crowded than saturday. perhaps peeps r afraid they will miss all the good stuff on saturday. but if it's so crowded that you can't look then nothing will be found...that sounds like e buddhist rant, but it's not. purely practical
  Tue. 11/26/13 10:36am dc pat:

jeezus. I forgot my dang WFMU password. What the hell?? This soler/claus piece is great.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:36am Marcel M:

It was overwhelming saturday but I found a lot of good stuff

Thanks to good old Rockit Scientist. I miss his store on St. Marks
  Tue. 11/26/13 10:41am GM:

If you can make it, early Sunday morning at the fair was a breeze. Not crowded, great selections.
  Tue. 11/26/13 10:42am dc pat:

icepack is 13?? oh man, that means my daughter will be 13 soon...
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:43am dc pat:

phew, that's better.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:51am Ike:

Maybe next year I will try offering a Sunday carpool from NJ to the fair or something. Dear Port Authority, your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 10:57am CDToaster:

@Ike: Hey, I work for the Port Authority; I thought we did a good job!
  Tue. 11/26/13 10:58am sugarwolf:

I remember listening to you when you were pregnant with DJ Icepack! How has that been 13 years??
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:00am Trouble:

indeed, sugarwolf, indeed!
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:03am Ike:

CDToaster, what's with the brutal slashing of service on Sunday mornings? Why no overnight substitute bus service after Sandy, leaving thousands stranded? Why not enough trains from 7 to 8 every evening, causing incredibly packed trains? I could go on.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:04am ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@ike: did you know Monty Python is doing a live reunion show? Sold out in 43 seconds. www.independent.co.uk...
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:06am dc pat:

uh, that's 43.5 seconds, jennique. No quite so impressive after all...
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:09am Ike:

▓ennique, I like how a Python said "this will be a great way to pay my mortgage!" or some such. (Your "J" is still mojibake BTW, maybe try a different special "J"?)

Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:11am CDToaster:

@Ike: You make good and valid points. I'm sorry I can't answer you as I don't make any decisions regarding service (or lack thereof). But now that I have your attention, may I ask how did you create your moving (flash) avatar?

CDT, at a certain pledge level, you can upload an animated GIF. Anyway, thanks for your reply. I suppose I can't ask you to tell your boss's boss's boss to go jump in a lake full of hot sauce and mutant fire piranhas. C'est la vie.

Woah didn't think I'd hear Appendix Out today! thanks Trouble! love this tune

@Ike: I would think your pledge level would allow you to fix mojibake text! ;-) Hmmm... It took me a while to pick that J, so I'll have to spend some time looking for another one. To be continued...
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:30am CDToaster:

@Ike: Thanks for the info. I'll do my best to improve service in whatever small way I can. Truth be told, I actually work for the MTA. Have a great Thanksgiving Ike, Trouble, and all.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:31am KP:

Hi, Trouble. Sorry i missed you at the Fair. Apparently i somehow did not realize so many DJs had their own tables.
  Tue. 11/26/13 11:32am Peter:

S saw Mike Kelly in Amsterdam and said it was one of the best shows she's ever seen! Bring ice-pack and the Bibliotequero! Off to meetings!
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:33am ░╫Kℰ░:

CDT, whaaaat? You joker. Well, the MTA gets a lot of flack but I wish they could take over the PATH. I don't see any subway trains viciously jacked down to every 35 min., not even overnights.
Avatar    Tue. 11/26/13 11:40am CDToaster:

Thanks, Ike. We really do try to keep the people moving along even though we've been working a year without a contract.
