The new app is great. i m not sure if i have the update, which addresses archive issues. But yeah it's super, Kitty.

What's the real deal on this pledge drive? Is it the seasonal one or is it for the new perf space? Put another way, will there be another pledge drive before the holidays?
Avatar 🦇 4:07am
Julie:

No, this is it. It's for the space AND operating costs, about 50/50
  4:08am
Marmalade Kitty:

How did the record fayre go?
Avatar 🦇 4:09am
Julie:

Has not happened, it's in November this year
Avatar 4:09am
KP:

That is confusing. Not every listener lives in this area and cares about a performance space. and since there was an extra drive last year.
Avatar 4:12am
fred von helsing:

@KP I thought of this too but the reply will be "but ALL listeners will get to hear great music coming from it" :)
Avatar 🦇 4:13am
Julie:

I agree. But is not just for the space, it is also for our operating costs to get us through to the marathon. It went on longer last year because of damage from Sandy, there was no other reason.
Avatar 4:13am
KP:

Well i was at the party there after last drive and there was some great music coming from it. including from our host tonight.
Avatar 4:13am
fred von helsing:

Oh wait so when is the marathon ?
Avatar 4:14am
KP:

This is the marathon! There's always two.
Avatar 4:14am

Except for hurricanes.
Avatar 4:15am

but the real one is like in May. right.
Avatar 4:15am
fred von helsing:

OK a pledge drive is a marathon is a pledge drive is a rose is a rose
Avatar 🦇 4:15am

Marathon is March. There's always been a year-end fundraiser, it's just that it used to be mail-only.
Avatar 4:16am
KP:

Now it's silent.
  4:17am
Marmalade Kitty:

@Fred; February/March usually. This October marathon is the muted one.. Shhush!

Avatar 5:23am
Matt from Springfield:

That's great! Who else was at your gig?
Avatar 5:26am
fred von helsing:

A giant pile of MP3s ! I was just DJ'ing...
Avatar 5:28am
Matt from Springfield:

Ah! :) Still that's cool...I noticed you said your DJ name on another list! ;)
Avatar 5:31am
fred von helsing:

Well, I need a new DJ name for this new all-female-vocalists format "Courtney Love's Sunday Cuntday". I like "DJ Kinderwhoremonger" but noboby here gets it.... :-/
Avatar 🦇 5:35am
Julie:

I think you should do a set of all effeminate male music from the 80s and call yourself the cocteau twink
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am
Rob W:

Nice hooky track from Ghost Wave...
Avatar 5:38am
Matt from Springfield:

Teehee, Cocteau Twink! :)

YES! The early early sparse Human League! Love this album!
Avatar 5:38am
fred von helsing:

Cocteau Twink *chuckle*. But the gig went really well. But I got requests for bands with male vocalists so clearly some people didn't quite geddit. The basic mix was 60s French pop, early 80s postpunk, 90s indie rock, & 90s electrorock, with a dose of newer stuff like Friends. Still fighting the seether d'oh.
Avatar 5:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Eternally fighting the seether, before and after Veruca Salt!
Avatar 5:42am
fred von helsing:

VS says they're getting back together, which is total AMAZE. I've seen interviews where the bitterness is so thick you couldn't swing a seether thru it.

great songs tonight Julie....

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am
Meghan:

You know you need to play Nick Cave when I am awake...... tsk tsk. hehe
Avatar 5:50am
fred von helsing:

These recent all-female supergroups aren't doing a lot for me, I'm a-feared. Gotta join up the boffo bangin' beats of Breeders, VS, L7 (in a good mood), that kinda stuff. Turn people's booties into hyperkinetic meltdown slagheaps. Hey is that a band name ?
