A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

- was coming to top of late Steve Job's short list - remaking the school textbook situation...

Not to be too nit picky , but as a native of the area where your last set ended up I feel compelled to point out the Shakin' Ray LEE Veyes are pronounced like the canvas trousers of legend. I knew you'd want to know. Keep being amazing! Terry(ATL)

unless you're the instructor who wrote the text. then it's all good.

Who are the resellers buying from? My parnter and I are having this conversation wrt our market as well. Her position is Farmer Scott's mine is that if the reselling is from other local farms that it is ok.

Well no textbooks sounds like a school I'd wanna go to. And as always, the AMNH has some nice researchy-tools in the field of Anthropology, especially the African continent:anthro.amnh.org...

oh this number is helping with the critical placement of my Sub woofer now ,, good happy September dJ trouble and all kiddles out there,,

The minneapolis farmer's market has both local and out-of-town farmers and purveyors, both big and small. The St. Paul Farmer's Markets are all-local (within the state of MN and part of Wisconsin) and seem for the most part to be single-farm vendors. Both co-exist pretty well. I've bought from both.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- thot the 7-8" Woofers on my good ol' Infinity spkrs in the living room were getting buzzy~fuzzy
- so looked @ 'em - shocked to see foam gasket around edge just disintegrated! These days - even cheapies have rubber or fabricy stuff...So - put duct tape on 'em! Sort of worked ??...
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:51am Trouble:

the other farmers are not up to the ideals of farmer scott, he would argue. but he is most unhappy about the non reaction that the heads of market have given to his complaints. i wonder if the consumer should be educated through the farmers. announcing what he has, and how it is grown. this would make people aware of their choices. i don't think most peeps give much thought to food decisions...
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:51am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- so getting out of the supermarket is not even enuff...
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:51am Cecile:

The Downtown Mpls Farmer's Market does have people selling stuff from bigger veg wholesalers, but they don't tend to carry the same things as the local farmers, so you can shop at both and not repeat yourself.

I saw the Shaking Ray Levis open for Derek Bailey at the Church of Existentialism in Atlanta 13 years ago. Great show!

Rev Rab: wouldn't go anywhere without my Infinity Q sub A's from decades ago. Great sound so far...
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:52am Trouble:

robert, not a dig at another dj and his family. more like mine...o well
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:52am Cecile:

I think that if you put "local" in there, though, it has to be local. I would also include middlemen who are selling entirely local produce from other farmers. Some folks are good at business, others are good at selling.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:53am Trouble:

exactly, cecile!

I don't have problems with the wholesalers if they are paying attention to other vendors. They should not come in with cucumbers if they are in season and the locals are selling them. But if they have pineapples and mangos, well, yeah.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:55am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sem: & for the little shelf speakers in the bedroom, Infinity compares well to both Polk & Bose - even though smaller !
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:56am Cecile:

are they cheaper, Rev? That would be a selling point for me.
Avatar Tue. 9/3/13 11:57am Sem Chumbo:

Sweet sounds throughout, Trouble. Thx, and catch you next week.
