Forgetting that the Christopher St. station gets "cleaned" (ewwwww!) the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month got me home just in time for your superfuntime show!! Now please release Therese from your cellar, the money will be in your account as requested.

I barely have internet where I'm at. And I have a looooooooooooong travel day that begins in a few hours.

I'll listen as long as I can.

Cookies and tea! NOM NOM NOM.

"Laughing Song" would pair well with Flipper's "Ha Ha Ha."

Susan:

Will you play Walter Westinghouse? Please? And if you could look into the Marmits cover of "damn, I wish I were your lover" that Diane Kamakaze played, that'd be cool... Very Residence inspired.
Avatar 3:21am
amEdeo:

I'll definitely check that out, Susan. I have a special version of Walter Westinghouse that I'll be playing later on in the show.
Avatar 3:21am
Eyepatch Fox:

So I suppose this is why you've been wearing an eyepatch, eh?

Susan:

Thank you. Well, Spit Stix did divulge that he sang for the Residence. Bad boy, eh? And he produced the Marmits, so somebody should give it it's due. I emailed Ken, but he didn't care. That's why I'm crying...
  3:46am
KP:

Into this in big way, AmEdeo.
  3:48am
Susan:

I would really like to finish listening to this, but I got a 6 year old who's gonna wake me up early. I was probably too high when I saw the Residence in concert back in the last century, but gosh, I do like a WFMU show where Cecile doesn't comment, so I'm gonna savor that now. Do give Marmits a listen, please.

Mr_Spo0ns:

who are the Residents........... lol
Avatar 4:05am
Eyepatch Fox:

Yup. Eyepatches sure are sweaty in the summer. It's unfortunate. I should perhaps devise eyepatch powder. They could sell it in truck stops next to monkey butt powder!
  4:07am
Howski:

Powder Powder is the way to go, apply it equally to eyepatches and monkey butts.
Avatar 4:09am
amEdeo:

Man, I am so behind on my monkey powdering. Truly a devastating state of affairs.
Avatar 4:09am

Is BGZ around? I think he bought the Residents' refrigerator full of goodies souvenir pack, eye helmet included.

WOWIE ZOWIE THE RESIDENTS
  4:12am
Mike:

FYI: The radio show you have actual interview clips from is called "Residents Radio Special" or "1977 Residents Radio Special," not "Ignorance Of Your Culture Is Not Considered Cool ."
Avatar 4:14am
KP:

I've got an uncontrollable urge.
Avatar 4:14am
amEdeo:

@KP: Oh boy, if only.
  4:23am
Mike:

1977 Radio Special is totally safe for airing. It was, indeed, made for radio stations to air and to promote The Residents. Your bootleg must have other, bad material. You should get the real deal.
Avatar 4:31am
amEdeo:

It's the recording of their Boarding House show, which is included alongside the radio special, that poses the problem. Like the whole "fuck a rusty doorknob" Peggy Honeydew song for instance. But just because the FCC say it ain't okay, don't mean it ain't A+++++!
Avatar 4:35am
KP:

This is monumental as well as just plain mental. Overwhelmed.
Avatar 4:36am

Randy Chuck and Bob?
  4:38am
KP:

Just saw note about show not being archived. Can I reveal what I witnessed?
Avatar 4:40am
beavoux:

Much of the speculation about the members' true identities swirls around its management team, known as the Cryptic Corporation.[9] Cryptic was formed as a corporation in California by Jay Clem (born 1947), Homer Flynn (born April 1945), Hardy W. Fox (born 1945), and John Kennedy in 1976, all of whom denied having been band members. (Clem and Kennedy left the Corporation in 1982, much to the chagrin of some fans.[10]) The Residents members do not grant interviews, although Flynn and Fox have conducted interviews with the media.
Avatar 4:41am
amEdeo:

KP: You're more than welcome to describe all the things. And don't worry, come 2043 you'll be able to hear it again!
Avatar 4:56am

  5:44am

ARE THEY A BIT ROTTEN?
Avatar 5:45am

OF COURSE, WHAT AM I A DINGNUT?! OF COURSE OF COURSE OF COURSE THEY ARE. But not too much, just enough to add a sensible and refined sense of putrescence.
