Time for a vote: Mosquitoes, Fireflies, Crickets, or Cicadas?
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:36am Ken From Hyde Park:

The melody is bringing the heat. The harmony is bringing the humidity.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:38am Chris from DC:

Fireflies. Gave up on the cicadas.
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:40am BenG:

Fireflies on summer nights. Second choice Crickets at sunset.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:42am KevinfromBayRidge:

Hey Liz & all Bergers, Def Cicada's-Everytime they emerge I'm painfully aware that I'm 17 years older! On a better note , thanks for tolerablizing our Monday with your wunnerful programming.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:42am Liz Berg:

Although it seems like mosquitoes are winning the war, I vote Fireflies! (Side vote: do you say "fireflies" or "lightning bugs"?)
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:44am DCE:

my daughter got a kick out of the fireflies the other night. we made a joke about "glowing yellow butts".
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:47am harveyjohn:

Lightnin' bugs...
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:50am tim from champaign:

I heard cicadas fir the first time this year on the 4th.
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:50am BenG:

We call them fireflies. They're not bugs. They're magical.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:52am Chris from DC:

Never seen so many fireflies as on Friday night. Whoa, BSI!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:53am tim from champaign:

I call them lightnin' bugs too
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 9:54am tim from champaign:

Does anyone else call mosquito repellent "bug dope"?
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:54am harveyjohn:

Ratsy's brother would pinch off the glow, and wear it on his eyelids...
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:56am harveyjohn:

"skeeter spray"... Though I like the inference...
  Mon. 7/8/13 9:57am BenG:

btw, Galaz M-12 goes great with the google doodle that's up right now. google.com
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:00am βrian:

Bug dope is good to have on hand on Canada Day.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:02am Ken From Hyde Park:

I'm a bug doper...wait, what?
  Mon. 7/8/13 10:04am harveyjohn:

"dope" bugger...
  Mon. 7/8/13 10:06am βrian:

In Michigan they were fireflies, but we like lightning bugs, too.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:08am tim from champaign:

My favorite summer insect is the praying mantis.
  Mon. 7/8/13 10:12am BenG:

In my travels, gals are more apt to like praying mantises than the guys.
  Mon. 7/8/13 10:15am harveyjohn:

Ladybugs! Junebugs... for the girls wit' the high hair!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:22am Jordi:

oh hey, just got here. Thanks for spinning the parrot, LizB!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:26am Rev. Turnip Druid:

...though I guess if it's a file on the FMA, it's not properly "spinning," izzit? Somewhere a hard-drive is spinning. Maybe it applies...
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:28am Liz Berg:

Welcome Rev and Jordi!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 10:30am Verah:

Man, this has made an exhausting post-holiday Monday bearable.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:05am Parq:

Sorry, as I'm sure I missed something that everyone else knows about, but what's this about Montgomery? I don't see anything on the homepage about a new signal.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:07am Liz Berg:

The Montgomery thing is temporary, Parq.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:11am northguineahills:

Hot damn, where did these last 5 tracks come from?!!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:14am Rev. Turnip Druid:

aciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid.........
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:15am Rev. Turnip Druid:

jeezus, this just put Sleezy D's "i've lost control" back in my head. That's a guaranteed six-week earworm. And not bad.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:19am Carmichael:

Good morning Liz and Lizners.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:30am Mike East:

Morning, all.
Hey RTD - heard a bsi track on Faye's show Saturday. Really great stuff. Had me zoning out while frying falafel.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:33am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Thanks Mike E. .. That was the big-band spacerock version of BSI. A big nasty supergroup with Pilesar (drums) and Insect Factory (guitars) - not a typical BSI piece by a longshot, but it was a perfectly telepathic improv...
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:35am tim from champaign:

I wish I was zoning out all fried on falafel right now. Speaking of which, my wife has been making some killer toum (garlic paste) lately.
  Mon. 7/8/13 11:41am KP:

Tell the Hugh Beaumont Experience to drop by when they get chance.
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:53am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Nymph! Dig!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:55am northguineahills:

Nice Spacemenny intro there
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:55am dc pat:

Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:56am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:57am northguineahills:

Thanks for saving our collective arses, Liz!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 11:58am Liz Berg:

My pleasure, NGH, thanks for hanging in there, everyone!
Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 12:00pm Hoboken Jack:

Avatar Mon. 7/8/13 12:00pm dc pat:
