no this is James Last, right Fab?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

WITCH!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:14pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

That reminds me. I gotta run home & check my hairbrush for weird white larvae.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:16pm DCE:

good mousse, good day, good white larvae on the way
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:17pm hamburger:

failarvae or faillafell?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:17pm DCE:

a car alarm should sound so good
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:18pm common:

good call, rev. turnip!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:18pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Well, it's a larvae to Tipperary...
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:21pm WhiteRaccoon:

Come on, we need a CD of car alarms, ordered chronologically. Who will pick up the gauntlet, in the realm of music lovers? I will buy one....
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:22pm duke:

Larvaé Villechaize
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:22pm Mutant:

  Thu. 5/30/13 3:24pm WhiteRaccoon:

Yowza!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:25pm Eyepatch Fox:

I think we need a CD FOR car alarms. I'm tired of the same old. Why not mix it up and let people personalize them like ring tones? Maybe folks would fuck with your car less if whenever they bumped bumpers they'd hear Blixa scream.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:26pm DCE:

Pinhas does it again!
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:28pm WhiteRaccoon:

I like the way you think Eyepatch. Let me know if you need any help. Let us see, what would be some of the more effective tunage to keep people away? I can only think of the category: Smooth Jazz!!!!!!!!!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:29pm Carmichael:

Yo Fabio. Brutha Ennio, go bro go!
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:30pm WhiteRaccoon:

Final metaphor? Hmmm....
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:30pm Carmichael:

Yoko Ono car alarm.
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:33pm common:

white raccoon! YES! also, i've always wanted to start a band called the red raccoon.
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:33pm jeanne:

Broadcast without Trish Keenan is weird
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:37pm WhiteRaccoon:

I actually saw a white raccoon last week in an industrial area--we locked eyes, I left when it started getting antsy and I then worried for the poor thing. Bette Midler car alarm.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 3:38pm Andrew Waterloo:

Mrs. Miller singing Great Gig In the Sky car alarm
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:39pm common:

Wow! a white raccoon. i had a nightmare about a red raccoon when i was a kid. so i'm told.
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:40pm WhiteRaccoon:

@common: cool! I think you need to create a red raccoon somehow.
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:47pm Concerned Citizen:

Hey, who's this playing right now? Anyone?
  Thu. 5/30/13 3:48pm WhiteRaccoon:

The void?

  Thu. 5/30/13 3:57pm WhiteRaccoon:

I really like whatever is playing now....
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:00pm common:

@white raccoon: Maybe a puppet!
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:11pm WhiteRaccoon:

@common---yeah! That sounds great. Toilet flushing car alarm!!! :)
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:14pm DCE:

I missed much, as I was dealing with a slow person on the phone.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:14pm YETI BOB:

Wow, I was listening to C. Ribeiro "Paix" just this morning, now I turn own WFMU and hear this ... what are the odds?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:14pm dc pat:

jaysus! This Catherine Ribeiro thing is really something....if that's what's playing now...
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:16pm Husband Man:

Man my wife LOVES Catherine Ribeiro. I wish I were her right now so she could be hearing this.
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:16pm WhiteRaccoon:

I wonder what she is singing about...
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:16pm Husband Man:

I mean, I wish I were my wife, not Catherine Ribeiro. Both are strange I guess but just thought I should clarify.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:17pm YETI BOB:

dc pat: Yes.... track down the album "Paix" if you can find it.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:17pm dc pat:

I wish I was Catherine Ribeiro right now--imagine what that must be like.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:18pm Cecile:

what? sex? Fabio!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:18pm dc pat:

Whoa! She was howat!
Thu. 5/30/13 4:19pm kme in chi:

Everyone's wife loves Catherine Ribeiro.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:20pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

DCP: Isn't that like a musk-rat? or a stoat?
She's a damned stoat??!?!!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:20pm dc pat:

huh. according to Wiki: "her Portuguese origins are responsible of the unique character of her voice." I did not know that.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:21pm dc pat:

yes Rev, she's a goddam stoat! So??
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:21pm Cecile:

not strange, Husband Man. The Pink Fairies wrote an excellent song called "I wish I was a girl"
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:21pm dc pat:

on that note I must go ride in the miserable DC heat...thanks Fab.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:22pm Cecile:

a Quebecer classic.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:22pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I have a strange and magical connection to goddamned stöats.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:22pm dc pat:

so did Robyn Hitchcock Sometimes I wish I was a pretty girl...
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:23pm Cecile:

Slate did a nice article following the footsteps of the movie.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:23pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Pink Fairies references always welcome, Cecile. Also let us not forget Motorhead's "I'll Be Your Sister"
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:27pm don:

if i'm not mistaken ('cause i didn't hear it), that track was not from the Akira soundtrack. Ecophony Gaia is a different album. was it this one?
http://www.discogs.com/Geinoh-Yamashirogumi-Ecophony-Gaia/release/727877
always great when GY gets airtime, though! cheers!
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:27pm WhiteRaccoon:

Where else could you hear this? Thanks Fabio!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:34pm Carmichael:

Sergeant Schultz reading beat poetry?
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:36pm WhiteRaccoon:

@Carmichael: :)
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:37pm northguineahills:

Been busy all day but listening. Holy scuzz monkeys, today's set has been extraordinarily awesome!
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:38pm common:

still haven't been able to watch sweet movie.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:39pm DCE:

sweet movie?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:40pm DCE:

I saw a pretty weird movie last night--Human Highway. Neil Young and Devo in the late 70s/early 80s. Good stuff!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:43pm Mike East:

@DCE - is that where they're all wearing radiation suits and respirators and everything is rotoscoped?
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:44pm WhiteRaccoon:

I just had the idea (interjecting on movie talk, sorry) of if there is any genre that Fabio has not played music from. Is there Fabio? I'm guessing "smooth jazz."
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:44pm DCE:

yeah! and Neil and Devo jam on Hey Hey My My for like 10 very sick minutes
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:44pm WhiteRaccoon:

@DCE: did it require weed?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:45pm DCE:

no, more like Corona Familiar, WhiteRaccoon
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:47pm DCE:

one of my friends purchased a former storefront Buddhist temple and they show cult movies every Wednesday....plus he's a huge Dennis Hopper fan....
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:47pm northguineahills:

I love Sweet Movie, yeah, there are some moments in there.
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:49pm WhiteRaccoon:

So it's like a movie cult?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:49pm YETI BOB:

White Racoon: How about Christian Metal?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:52pm Carmichael:

I don't think its out on DVD, but there are 2 VHS versions.
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:55pm WhiteRaccoon:

Wow YETI, that is great. You're talking about a genre Fabio hasn't played from right, not the car alarm? This could fit greatly into both.
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:56pm brock:

Wow, Otto Muehl's commune is totally fucked: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friedrichshof_commune
  Thu. 5/30/13 4:56pm common:

Sorry DCE. Distracted with dumb work. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072235/?ref_=sr_1 I think.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:57pm YETI BOB:

WR: Yeah, I meant the former, but the concept of "Christian Metal Car Alarm" is putting a smile on my face
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 4:57pm DCE:

anything old and weird, that's for me
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:00pm YETI BOB:

Oh interesting, "Sweet Movie" is from the same director (Makavejev) as "W.R. Mysteries of the Organism" which I saw a few years ago. (WR = Wilhelm Reich, in this context). That was quite strange, this one looks quite a bit stranger.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:01pm YETI BOB:

Maybe after I get through "Holy Mountain" I'll take the "Sweet Movie Challenge"
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:25pm Cecile:

I read summaries of both of those movies and was completely frightened.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:29pm Cecile:

this was when I was younger.
I still haven't had the urge to go see them.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:31pm tim from champaign:

Cecile - Holy Mountain & Sweet Movie or WR & Sweet Movie?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:32pm Mike East:

Holy Mountain is goddamn amazing...mind blowing even....I gotta watch that again.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:32pm tim from champaign:

Is it true that there's a new Jodorowsky film?
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:33pm Cecile:

wr and sweet movie
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:33pm YETI BOB:

tfc: So I have heard. He also authored a bunch of comic books :-)
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:36pm tim from champaign:

What? Jodorowski comics? I have to get a hold of those.

I watch WR a few years ago. It was definitely from a certain place in time. I liked it overall. I was really interested in learning about orgones at the time I watched it.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:37pm the glowing one:

oh yeah, the dusty + fabio moments haven't come up yet.
  Thu. 5/30/13 5:39pm WhiteRaccoon:

There's a movie available on netflix about a beautiful woman who falls in love with a monkey, even though she is married. I watched the first 10-15 minutes and it was just too stilted for me. I can't remember what it was called--just did google search. The actress has a big name and it is French. Truly weird.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:41pm Andrew Waterloo:

@WhiteRaccoon, that sounds like something Serge Gainsbourg would do
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:41pm YETI BOB:

tfc: for a periood of time, AJ was not able to obtain funding for films, so it was easier and cheaper to make comic books. they are glossy sci-fi/fantasy, maybe not exactly what you'd expect ....
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:45pm tim from champaign:

Thanks Yeti. I'll still seek them out.
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:53pm sFrances from VA:

(this song is so mellow that I wonder if Clay hasn't just slipped Fabio a jazz cigarette?)
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:57pm Matt from Springfield:

It IS hot!! Hotter than a two dollar pistol! Hotter than Frangry and Michele! ;)

Can't wait to cool off with a Klay treatment and G&T!!
Avatar Thu. 5/30/13 5:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Dusty A-Z II!! Sep 15 2011 - the week BEFORE his first, landmark OWS episode! That was a GOOD one - re-run away! Encore presentation! :)
  Mon. 6/3/13 10:34pm tahomajohn:

scribbling around on a screenplay as I listen to this show... cinematic Sir Fabio... bravo:)
