Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:32pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Are there some recordings of male bees out there? (Drones, get it?)
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:32pm steve:

so is the story behind the Conet Project for real? it seems to good to be true. not that ill enjoy it any less.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:32pm dc pat:

do I really have to go through and star all the Conet project tracks?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:33pm dc pat:

oh yes, steve. I use to have shortwave radio and I've heard this stuff.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

If I do, buster, YOU DO.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...just peeking in on break @ work...which is over
...see if I can catch a bit aftrerwork/Archives!...
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

& what DCP said (@3:33) -- I practically spent my entire childhood with my hand-me-down shortwave pressed to my ear all night, digging the numbers stations. Very trippy stuff when you're 6-ish years old.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...they've explained Numbers Stations to me on the CommentsBoards here
- Googled it - & they speak of one that is a little girl's voice:
- Now - there could be a few dif. reasons for that
...but that seemed just too Stephen King to be true...
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:36pm DCE:

so that's what happened, RTD?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:36pm steve:

thats so cool! i gotta get a shortwave radio, or build one. there is actually a really intense oldschool seller of tubes and radio equipment right by me in williamsburg bk. ive been there a few times, the guy who runs it is grumpy but endearing.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

DCE's got yer Number, RTD...
@steve: ...*of course* he is...
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:40pm Bas NL:

I used to get this German speaking number station in the past. There was just the one digit i couldn't figure out. Sounded like 'zwul'..
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:44pm Husband Man:

Fab, my wife keeps thinking she sees you around Red Hook Brooklyn. She's like, "There he is again!" I'm like, "How do you know." She sez "No on else looks like that." So what's the deal? You hangin' in the hook, or is she losing her mind?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:44pm dc pat:

@steve--you bet it's cool, when I found out about this I sat glued to my radio..mildly freaked out all night.

@BasNL: zwolf (umlaut over o) pronounced tsvorlf, which is 12.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:48pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:50pm Mike East:

RIP Taylor Mead. He was a cool guy. Final scene of Coffee and Cigarettes is the best, imo. He used to hang out at the Bowery Poetry Club many years back.

my afternoon was #failing but then i tuned in and now i'm feeling #strong
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 3:58pm Bas NL:

@dc pat: Yes, could have been 'zwolf'; but it sounded more like 'full'. A very deep 'u' sound, unlike 'zwolf'

Hashtag - I was kinda hungover this morning but now beersy sounds good--maybe in a hair-of-the-rescue-dog-to-my-cubicle sort of way
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:06pm DCE:

oh beersy will be visiting me soon enough...it's a Six Point Brownstone kind of evening, I believe.

Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:12pm fearson:

Fabio, can you tell me how you feel about the film "#Failure to Launch"?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:12pm fearson:

bc i've been wondering
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:13pm tim from champaign:

The Colin Stetson stuff was really cool. I assumed it would suck major ass because his CV said he's played with Arcade Fire and Bon Iver. Those 2 bands are the worst, most bland, annoying soft rock bands ever.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:13pm Fabio:

@Husband man: Yes, it is possible. I have a pal in Red hook and have been around there quite a bit, and also have been to the restaurants on Van Brunt as well.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:14pm Chris from DC:

Highlight this week was Mad Fox Batch 100. Imperial stout, definitely a sipping beer.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:15pm Cheri Pi:

I recently visited Left Hand brewery in Boulder. Excellent stuff.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:25pm Carmichael:

I am gonna get tanked up on IPA tonite. I'e been planning all week, writing ideas, mapping directions, making spreadsheets. 1 eye on the clock.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:25pm Husband Man:

Nice! Thanks for clearing that up.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:26pm Chris from DC:

dcp, the Left Hand Sawtooth is a favorite.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:26pm tim from champaign:

Very cool, Pat. Left Hand has been flooding the local market here. Every bar worth it's salt in town has Nitro Milk Stout on tap.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:29pm Carmichael:

Ooh. Looking at their website, the 400 lb. Monkey would be in my hand and down my throat.

Appliance based music: we know what that means...all too well.

Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:41pm Cheri Pi:

whatever this is, I love it

re: insect ark.
totally effing sold.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:45pm tim from champaign:

Good plan, Cheri. I think Point on tap and Hams in the can are the cheap macro beers at the Empty Bottle. Won't get too hammered and it will keep me fairly hydrated.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:47pm steve:

macro-brewery. thats a great new word. new to me at least.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:47pm Chris M.:

Insect Ark sounding excellent!
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:48pm Chris from DC:

What a show that would be with Ulan Bator and these guys.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:51pm Ike:

What just happened a few minutes ago? Did my Foobar player get foobared or did Fabio blink in and out between pieces of that track?
  Thu. 5/9/13 4:51pm trish:

What pappy -T said.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:58pm BigLankySmoggie:

That Flemish poetry/ambient music from earlier was excellent but cant seem to find it available anywhere. Anyone know?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 4:58pm Ike:

Uh oh, has somebody been randomly insulting Arcade Fire again in the comments?! Am I going to have to cut a beeyotch?!?

Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:00pm Carmichael:

I blasted away at Rush, but no Arcade Fire. Thanks for the idea though, Ike.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:06pm Mike East:

please don't mention Rush on the comments...it is a can of worms.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:08pm Mike East:

just after I typed that, I was entering is a 30% discount for a client which came out to $2112. whoa....
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:09pm tim from champaign:

Insect Ark is very cool.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:10pm Ike:

Carm, that was actually Tim@4:13. I was being a coy smart-ass and wondering how many people who are too cool for bombastic epic indie rock would descend upon me immediately. ;)

Insect Ark is indeed great.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:12pm tim from champaign:

That's an impressive sword, Ike. I do stand by my disdain of weenie rock.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Corrupted PDFs took me away from the voyage aboard the Insect Ark. So now all Adobe employees, with their robot little black polo shirts must die in a chemical fireball.
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:16pm BigLankySmoggie:

Hope Insect Ark is playing here in England sometime on her tour? No mention on web site??
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:18pm Ike:

Tim, I understand trashing the drippy Bon Iver, but Arcade Fire, weenie?!? Intense rock songs about forgetting your names while digging tunnels in a snow-blasted post-apocalyptic landscape are weenie? Feh! I slice the buttons from your cravat, sir! Wait, do cravats have buttons?
Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:20pm BigLankySmoggie:

Er, like in English, what does 'weenie' mean? ;-)

Avatar Thu. 5/9/13 5:39pm tim from champaign:
