Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 3:48pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

@c0NZ- Is that to celebrate Thatcher's death? I think I heard something was going to happen.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 3:48pm Matt F:

Thanks for doing the Les Blank tribute, Scott. This is great!
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 3:48pm stingy herzog:

Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 3:57pm DCE:

great 60s rock. love it.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 3:58pm Mike East:

Zoom H4's are great for amateur field recording...although be prepared for people to think you're carrying around a taser
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:00pm Scott Williams:

yo stinge! assuming $$ is an object, I'll just 2nd what Liz said this morn: Sony & Tascam both make really gooduns. There's a Tascam for $75, but I don't know how flimsy it is. generally, when they make cheap models, they sound as good as the more $$$$ models, but are much more of a pain to operate, and sometimes the mechanical bits get wonky
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:03pm KP:

Oh, man!
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:04pm Special Man:

I am happy with my Olympus LS-10 for field recordings. Incidentally it sounds great on guitar amps as well.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:05pm stingy d:

right on, somebody earlier mentioned the zoom h2. i assume the h4 is a difference in the materials a la what scott is saying. and the olympus. right on. all good advices. tanks a bunch errbuddy!
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:07pm DCE:

great set, Scott Williams.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:08pm Special Man:

The LS-10 not too heavy to be carried in a shirt front pocket and the build feels solid. I use it an my mp3 player as well since it is not too clunky. Something I really like - that you can do with any digital dictaphone - is monitor live sound with headphones with volume turned way up, creating a kind of dog-like super hearing.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:09pm Andrew Waterloo:

Wow.. Sightings is sounding a bit like very early Einsturzende
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:12pm Bas NL:

Yes! This a great set! Hiya Scott! Hi commenteers!
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:12pm Dave B:

OK, with work out of the way, nows as good a time as any for som 'FMU.

Greetings one and all.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:13pm DCE:

work is just about done for me too...another helluva day.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:16pm DCE:

how are things in NL today, Bas?
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:18pm Dave B:

on the subject of field recorders, I was tempted to get one of these, but then gave my iPhone a dunk last week.

tascam.com...

Now with a 5, I gotta wait for a new design
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:26pm Jeff:

@Dave B: ...or just get a nice standalone recorder which doesn't require the iTelephone. These are pretty sweet:

Hiya Scott. Hello everyone. Just in time for Rush.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:31pm Dave B:

TONY!
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

That answers that question...how long do we have to wait to hear some dang Rush here?
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:33pm Chris from DC:

Yes!
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:34pm Dave B:

@jeff - yeah, no doubt. I was thinking of the covertness of the i-Accessory though...
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:34pm Dave B:

RU(bbi)SH!
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:37pm stingy d:

yea dave b, i've been investigating up that tascam im2. seems like the piece i'd like most. by i have iphone5 as well. so we assed out.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:37pm Carmichael:

I can actually tolerate this much better than the actual Rush.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:43pm neither:

I think that a whole serie of new 8-bit and 16-bit games should be created entirely based on the compositions by Perrey. The stages should be influenced by the melodies, and the Boss, well, that could be the SIN-THESIZER.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:51pm Cory:

I would love a Rush song atm
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:51pm ottovonbqe:

I hope all pop stars are under 10 in the future.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:52pm Droll:

Quinisa Rose sounds like she may be the illegitimate child of T-Pain.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:52pm Carmichael:

That 3cd electronic music box set OHM (with Perrey & Kingsley, among others) is just killer. I saw it in a Goodwill store and 1st thought it was the Who. They had displayed it upside-down.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:53pm ottovonbqe:

Who does she want back? A doll?
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:54pm Mike East:

this robot kid is freaking me out.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:54pm fleep:

And in rehab by 12.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:54pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

In my day, you had to be 18 to use autotune. It robs today's kids of their childhood.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:54pm neither:

The robot kind has the same spiritual layers as Kanye's
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:55pm Ken From Hyde Park:

What Rush songs has she recorded?
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:56pm Scott Williams:

she's amazing, Quinnisa's song has been haunting me for a week! she gots real good genes, being the legitimate spawn of Big Blood. 1st song ever to make me want autotune
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:57pm neither:

she should do a duet with ariel pink
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 4:58pm Dave B:

I remember a while back Meghan made mention that she'd like to run Nardwuar thru Auto Tune
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 4:59pm Yair Yona:

Quinnisa also takes the lead here
freemusicarchive.org...
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 5:03pm Droll:

Someday autotune will be seen as the most cliche telltale bad-taste what-we-thinking giveaway attribute of the 00's, like leisure suits in the 70's, or hats with horns in the middle ages.
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 5:05pm northguineahills:

Don't knock Leisure suits!
Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 5:06pm Andrew Waterloo:

Autotune will simply be confused with vocoder and eventually start a trend of sinking out of key.
Avatar    Mon. 4/8/13 5:08pm Dave B:

I still think the ECC got it right with "What Would You Think If I Sang Auto Tune"

Avatar Mon. 4/8/13 5:11pm Evan47:

the Wax Idols track is bad ass... i'm going to do some research on them
