Autotune, like other forms of torture, is never acceptable.
Avatar 11:01am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

in other words: if it must be there, over-use it to apocalyptic proportions. It becomes surreal. But in the context of western pop music, the perpetrators must be strung up and fed to termites.

So what is autotune, really? A rackmount FX unit? Stomp-box? Some physical hardware, or a pc plugin thing? Can it be abused further? Taken off-the-map into glitch/noise territory? Just curious.

I only like autotune when it's extreme. And preferably used on instruments it wasn't designed for, not voice
Avatar 11:09am
Rev. Turnip Druid:

yeh, that's my thought (fred) -- If "mis-used," any audio-mod tool could potentially be good fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
fred:

@Rev Turnip Druid: TG Gondard has been using one live for vocals, the good thing is that it doesn't work as intended in a noisish set. It can be a fun effect
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am
DCE:

I've never seen a stompbox autotune--usually it's a plug in...I think there are some rackmounts available. But put that shit in a stompbox and put a patent on that, and watch the $ flow in.

When I see a playlist song already yellow-starred, meaning I starred it a prior time it was played, that's gotta be the FMU equivalent of "heavy request"/"heavy rotation" -- 20 people have already faved that track, and I know I've heard it at least three or four times already... No, NOT tired of it, the opposite...
