i could also never appreciate punk, its seems to be an anti thesis of all music, too crude and uninspiring. |

Deepak: I have to disagree with you. 98% of punk is imitative crap, but the other two percent is SO crude it IS inspiring! (As opposed to being TOO crude and uninspiring) |

its unappealing to me as a conservative, because its rooted in that leftist anarchist tradition. |

Dave PA, You're learning me about music! Thanks. Got any opinion on the 'punk/crude' music discussion I was having earlier with Deepak? (scroll up if you weren't here) |

I think Deepak hit it on the head with the roots of punk - I can totally see why it wouldn't have appeal. It's not so much art for art's sake but an expression of a sub-population's zeitgeist. It's one of those you had to be there things (in the flesh or at least in spirit) and identify with the mood and the attitude behind it. But then again that's true of rock n roll in general, I think. But it's all too complicated - what was I talking about again? |

Musically, I don't mind crude/amateurish stuff. Unless when it totally fails, or when it's combined with a pretentious or ironic attitude. As for political stuff, I can understand Deepak there: I really can't take some of the power electronics scene anymore. I guess I'm too much of a liberal |

which BTW is why I love some of the late 60's/early 70's religious folk/rock (or whatever you call it) that you play Jason - I can almost smell the flannelgraph. |

Jason, I agree with the "lame" label, but when I was younger I could tolerate it and wait for the next act or a pleasant surprise. Now the antics of some of the audience and/or the bands make me leave. Sutcliffe Jugend draws some actual extremists sometimes |

Hmmm not familiar with power electronics - I must have stepped away for that part of the show - I'll have to check it out on the archives... BTW, what's more punk than John Cage's 4'33"? An assault on the senses, surely? |

There are many kind of Arirang. This song is martial but some Arirang is very sad. Arirang is korean sorrow when Korea was poor long time ago or under the Japan.

Yoon Hang-Gi seems sleepy. Could his song not be played at the appropriate speed? (great final part of the show by the way!)
