Hey gang. My mom wants me, my brother who is not really into anything like me, either I or he is the black sheep, and my aging dad with onset dementia to spend some bonding time. Any ideas as to what we should do? If it helps I am very liberal and my brother leans to bigot/conservative and my dad I think is a JFK FDR style democrat. Any ideas are welcome. |

@GMMM - is this a single event or a series of events? Smaller doses might be waister and my preference is always to cook and eat some food that is agreeable to all... |

Green Mountain Man Mark: Whatever you do with them, I'd recommend keeping politics the hell out of it. Do something your dad likes. Hopefully, your brother will get the hint that the outing's about your father, not him.

GMMM: that is a tough one. I agree with Lewis that something involving cooking/eating/drinking is a good idea. There's a place in New Jersey called Medieval Times that has jousting, serving wenches, etc. I've never been there but would happily go if my family were to invite me. |

@GMMM: Keep it simple and keep it fun. Not sure where Green Mountain is or what the weather is like there, but I would suggest something playful like miniature golf, a walk or drive through a nearby national/state park, or finding one of those paint-and-wine spots.
