  10:36am
Cecile:

good. keeping warm. snowed almost a foot yesterday.
  10:45am
tim from champaign:

I'm confused. I thought ZZ Top just got paid today. How come they gottsa get paid?
  10:46am
Cecile:

Billy sounds like a million years old.
  10:46am
j-No:

good Texas music
  10:48am
tino:

Houston baby!
  10:48am
Cecile:

What I liked about ZZ is that their rhythm section was kind of light and fleet for hard rock. I also liked the dry, open sound. This sounds thick and slow. Like its knees hurt.
  10:51am
Cecile:

but that Dicks song keeps blowing me away everytime I hear it. Don't know why I didn't quite get them in the 80s.
  10:54am
tim from champaign:

I love both the Texas and San Francisco versions of the Dicks. Their "These People" LP is a hidden gem.
  10:55am
Cecile:

I saw them once. I respected their passion, and thought their lead singer was hilarious with the hecklers, but I was there for Scratch Acid. I will have to go listen anew, Tim.
  11:03am
tim from champaign:

That's so cool, Cecile. I would have loved to have seen the Dicks (and Scratch Acid too). By the way, I'm jealous of the snow. Winters in central Illinois tend to be pretty mild and wimpy. I like a good snowy and cold winter.
  11:15am
Cecile:

I usually like them fine, but the first winter storm here it seems like everyone forgets how to drive, shovel and plow.
  11:19am
StuBot:

what in the fuck is this screeching noise and is it designed to yet again make 95% of the listeners turn off the radio? Yet another horrible choice by a WFMU DJ who plays some total noise and just wait for the peanut gallery here to get all snooty about why this crap is great and how Im the one with the bad musical taste. That shit aint music, its the sound your car makes before it blows up.
  11:21am
Cheri Pi:

Cecile, I can't wait for our first snow, this rain and warm temps are freaking me out.
  11:21am
StuBot:

sorry, 99.5%- anyone who defends the overheated radiator noise obviously has tinnitus.
  11:24am
Cecile:

I'll bet you get blasted from our storm. That'll right things pretty fast.
  11:25am
Cheri Pi:

Our temps are dropping today for the first time in weeks, I hope I get to wear my snow boots at least once this Winter ;)
  11:26am
Carmichael:

Hi Martha, hello posters.
  11:27am
Cheri Pi:

Heya Carmichael!
  11:27am
Cecile:

Cheri, you've got pierogies.

Carm!!
  11:28am
BSI:

I had pierogies once. But with medication and a little luck, I'm now able to live a relatively normal life.
  11:29am
Cheri Pi:

Cecile makes the best pierogies!
  11:29am
Cecile:

Did it help your tinnitis as well?
  11:30am
Cheri Pi:

*Snort
  11:30am
Cecile:

hahahah, cheri. you are too kind.
  11:31am
Carmichael:

Yo Cheri. And be careful what you wish for. Six Feet of Snow ain't fun, no matter how much you miss it.
  11:33am
Carmichael:

Hey Cecile. Long time, no hear from.
  11:34am
Cecile:

same here, Carm.
  11:45am
Cecile:

We have a great new place for beer. Another! It's this Czech style beer hall that just serves sausages and fries and has a ton of taps. Long tables for those who want to party, too. It was one of the cheaper nights out we had in a while.
  11:46am
Martha:

Thanks again all for checking in - sorry things were a bit discombobulated - and thanks again for listening in to WFMU -
  11:47am
Cecile:

this is really cool.
  11:48am
Martha:

Yes, the whole CD is wonderful - am happy to be able to play this whole track (ca. 15')!!!
  11:48am
Cheri Pi:

That place sounds like heaven Cecile, a great place to socialize in these dark months so y ou don't lose your mind....
  11:50am
Cecile:

exactly, cheri.
  11:51am
tim from champaign:

This cut is really intense and emotionally complex. Heavy.
  11:54am
Martha:

It is a wonderful track, wonderful CD to listen to - I highly recommend it and based on what I have heard here - anything else he has recorded at least recently -
  11:54am
Cheri Pi:

I'm enjoying this piece as well Martha.
  11:55am
Martha:

It's hard to find something to play after it -
  11:56am
Cecile:

Eugene McDaniels or Suicide. Either one.
  11:57am
mick:

that lonnie holley piece was the best thing i`ve heard in months
  11:58am
Cheri Pi:

good call Martha
  11:59am
Cecile:

yeah, ITA. to both mick and cheri.
  12:01pm
Martha:

Thanks all again for listening -
