A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Loretta Lynn carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

How do. I love Grouper but she releases her vinyl in such small numbers that I always end up getting stung for then on eBay and Discogs. Worth it though. I've seen her play three times but only in churches.

What organization assigns hurricane names? We should nominate Hurricane Trouble. Maybe that can be a t-shirt sales idea for the station....an alphabetic list of DJ-hurricane names. Hurricane Amadeo, Hurricane Brainen, etc.

Now they alternate male and female names to give less space for people to gotcha them. But they do need to be personal names in use, not handles...

Cecile, she passed away almost two months ago. It was very quick, so she did not suffer. Still miss her but she had a good, long life.

  Tue. 11/13/12 10:43am 1mckrs:

  Tue. 11/13/12 10:44am Cecile:

Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 10:46am trouble:

yes mariano, the line is long of high powered men who had affairs...why the fuss over this one. and no securrity was breached i heard yesterday
  Tue. 11/13/12 10:50am Cecile:

Well, another general supposedly sent her some saucy emails, and then supposedly she started being threatening toward another female of Petraeus's acquaintance.

Has ID TV taught us nothing? That is what porn and divorce are for! Keeping us on the right path!
  Tue. 11/13/12 10:50am A Guess:

People find huge entertainment value in celebrity scandals or supposed scandals. Actual policy bores most people, and they don't want to think about it in detail.
  Tue. 11/13/12 10:53am Mariano:

Oh, I was just commenting on how Betrayus has been used before. But I think the danger with the head of the CIA having an affair is the potential for blackmail by a foreign intelligence service. Something similar happened with one of the West German premiers in the 60s, Adenauer or Brandt, can't remember.
Tue. 11/13/12 10:54am Adrian in London:

Woohoo, Crime! I saw them the other week. They were enjoyably strange and sounded immense. Looking forward to the new album next year. I did a long interview with Simon a couple of years ago and he was as lovely a man as you could speak to.
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 10:57am trouble:

oooops sorry mariano, it was 1mckrs who offered up clinton as another, my bad.

Tue. 11/13/12 11:08am Titus in GA:

Un million de demains noirs?
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:20am BSI:

So what's the word on Skyfall amongst the real people? I literally gave up on the Bond franchise way back in the Roger Moore days (Octopussy was the last straw for that mofo) -- but rumor has it this new one is actually worthy.
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:20am radiobelly:

the creator has a a master plan
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:20am Cheri Pi:

It's setteled, I need to get Spiritual jazz vol 3, and might as well get vol.2 as well.
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 11:21am trouble:

reeally jennique? he leaves me cold. maybe i need to see him in action to appreciate...is it dj ice pack friendly? he is a newly born james bond fan
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:21am Lynn:

My cat is more curious than usual about bird noises
on the radio this morning.
Fun bird fact I just heard:
Sparrows have 1700 feathers that move independently.
(Not that the cat cares about that)
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 11:21am trouble:

whoa! 1700 independent feathers, that is outrageous!
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:22am ffrr:

Javier Bardeem's character is so creepy wonderful, all the acting is above average for a Bond film, Hi T.
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:22am Sam:

Can the sparrow move just one feather and none of the others?
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 11:25am trouble:

javier bardem is filling the creepy shoes big time these days. bonjour ffrr!
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:27am duke:

I heard full moon ensemble the other day on Destination Out and asked myself "why haven't I heard them before?" I just asked myself the same and then looked them up and figured out that I had. Deja not vu.
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:27am Jennique:

I grew up with Roger Moore as my go-to James Bond. Later appreciated Sean Connery and that was about it for me. Did not see any other Daniel Craig Bond films until this one b/c Javier Bardem was the villain. Really dug it and I think it is DJ Icepack friendly. Lots of references to Sean Connery/Goldfinger, with original Astin Martin car cameo!
Tue. 11/13/12 11:28am sfrances from VA:

@Randy Bachman , you were taking care of business so quickly that i didn't have a chance to vid your kitty bird call freakout!

This El Perro Del Mar track is so lovely. So very.
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 11:35am trouble:

des has only seen sean connery as JB but he is hooked! has a big pic of him on his art journal, crazy! with buster keaton on the other side...
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:37am Lynn:

That is my understanding. (Each separate). But I haven't yet read the book. Ok. Just got it to my phone.
'Feathers: The Evolution of a Natural Miracle' by Thor Hanson
Cat is not that interested in real life sparrows chirping away at the bird feeder here in Virginia. But the radio ones this AM confused her. Not a video worthy freakout. Not like when the bat got in the house. That was interesting.
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:40am radiobelly:

damn this little unit it tight.
Tue. 11/13/12 11:40am sfrances from VA:

@Lynn: Holy Smokes, you're another Virginian who also had bats get into the house. We had that last year, twice. No blood, no bites, no death or injury: thankfully, just lots of unrecorded freak out (ours & the kitties')
Avatar Tue. 11/13/12 11:41am trouble:

i am a big fan of those spiritual jazz comps, check em...and Lynn i am laughing at the idea of a bat and a cat
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:41am Jennique:

Des may like Skyfall if he has seen Goldfinger. That car plays a big part in the whole second half of the film. Lots of references to the "old way of doing things" and Daniel Craig is portrayed as an old battled War Horse.
Tue. 11/13/12 11:42am Brian in UK:

If you want pet friendly & film De Rouille et D'Os might appeal.
Tue. 11/13/12 11:44am sfrances from VA:

No day is complete without The Raincoats!
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:45am Lynn:

The weird thing about the bat is we don't know where it went. It disappeared.
Cat was so happy to chase it. (She doesn't go outside). She was all... Thank you! A present for me! Sooo much better than a feather on a string.
  Tue. 11/13/12 11:51am Faye:

i'm taking off, Trouble. many props to ya for today's great set and playing The Raincoats. Cheers, love! Go see Skyfall!
Tue. 11/13/12 11:55am sfrances from VA:

We knew how the 1st bat got in, but still had no idea how the 2nd bat got in--the kitties alerted us to it. We were able to trap /release both but long story short: the walls of the attic of the rental house were infested with them: and it started before we'd moved in. And we moved out...

Have a great week, release the bats! Release the bats! Great set, Trouble!
