I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  Fri. 10/19/12 1:41pm Ike:

Since the boss is busy watching Fox News or something, I am sneaking onto here to ask:

Were those fake cavemen? Those fake cavemen were AWESOME.
  Fri. 10/19/12 1:45pm Jimmy Savile:

isn't it Yagga Blues now then now then
  Fri. 10/19/12 1:46pm hubba:

Fake Cavemen is my new band, we'll play a song called "gross chops" and our one-sided lathe cut 10-inch will be called: every cornet's broken when you're on ketamine
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 1:48pm bryce:

musta been that there michael snow there
  Fri. 10/19/12 1:50pm Ike:

I read that too quickly and thought it said "every comet's broken." So someone has to call their next band Broken Comets. If that's not already taken. Bryce, you're the percussionist. And the vocalist. And the flute player. And the janitor.
  Fri. 10/19/12 1:56pm Mr Lowry:

Hey, Negativland sampled this. Or vice versa.
  Fri. 10/19/12 1:56pm Dieter:

"Soooo, who brought the moneky? Mine's at the groomer."
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:01pm Carmichael:

I didn't know it was already monkey time.
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:04pm hubba:

Hey Carm, when isn't it monkey time. Know what I'm sayin'?
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:12pm Mike East:

I think my brain is skipping
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:15pm hubba:

When skipping cds happen at my favorite all-you-can-eat south indian cuisine establishment the owners typically let it go on for about five minutes... that is about five minutes of absolute giddiness and head bobbing fun. Except for the couple who is trying to dip their dosas, not as giddy I imagine, those two.
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:21pm Carmichael:

This sounds like national anthemn of Lichtenstein.
Fri. 10/19/12 2:22pm Domenic and Kissy Fur:

Ah, this is has made that puddle that bit me this morning sting no longer

good old Anal Magic & Rev. D. Frizell
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:23pm northguineahills:

Carm, it's more likely Transnistria.

  Fri. 10/19/12 2:25pm Carmichael:

  Fri. 10/19/12 2:25pm northguineahills:

On another note, the Prince of Sealand died last week.

Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:28pm bryce:

Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:29pm bryce:

i always hoped fmu could one day co-locate its servers there...
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:33pm kiemzi:

here comes the best part
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:33pm kiemzi:

boom. nailed it.
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:34pm northguineahills:

Well, Roy Bates started off doing a floating pirate radio station before he occupied that old sea fort. His original plan was to build a huge-ass radio antenna there, but the politics of occupying the fort became more interesting.

Then, there was that attack by German mercenaries that injured him and his son (that was fought off), and Sealand became hard-core!
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:38pm bryce:

I KNOW! he was a fucker and a half!

  Fri. 10/19/12 2:40pm kiemzi:

hey is this GE Smith and the Saturday Night Live band?
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:42pm bryce:

it would be, if it could just get a little more money shot
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:43pm bryce:

i'm trying to visualize GE smith's breakfast
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:45pm Guess:

GE Smith would eat breakfast while looking at an 8x10 of Hall and Oates. His breakfast would consist of wheat germ sprinkled over a bowl of Kix cereal, a hot slice of Steakumâ„¢ and a glass of Tang.
Fri. 10/19/12 2:45pm mike noble in dc:

I'm sitting in the Smithsonian Folkways office right now.
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:46pm bryce:

but doesn't the food fall out of his grimace while he's trying to eat it?
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:46pm Lomax:

Digitizing sea shantys, Mike?
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:47pm kiemzi:

full ashtray on toast
Fri. 10/19/12 2:48pm mike noble in dc:

No sea shantys, more stuff like what Bryce is playing right now (which correct me if I'm wrong, is all off of the Folkways Indonesia series).
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:49pm kiemzi:

  Fri. 10/19/12 2:49pm Fyregut Helmsman:

Just focus on GE's blunt-cut brunetteness, Bryce, and his rigid upper-body. He hangs at Chelsea Guitars on 23rd St. sometimes. A personable fellow, all kidding aside.
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:50pm kiemzi:

  Fri. 10/19/12 2:51pm Pro Tester:

Mike, did Smithsonian Folkways document the Occupy movement folk musings in any way? Curious.
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:53pm bryce:

mike, you're right! those 3 were from phillip yampolsky's series....one of my favorite things in the universe....
Fri. 10/19/12 2:53pm mike noble in dc:

there's a nice little display on the wall over here of every entry in the indonesia series.
  Fri. 10/19/12 2:55pm soul patch:

Nice show B-R-O-M-A-N!
Avatar Fri. 10/19/12 2:55pm bryce:
