Thanks, folks. And thanks for checking in. It was really unusually quiet there for a while. Just want to be sure people can actually hear us. |

Checking in, David. Really psyched to hear that Kurt landed So Percus for his show this fall. I mentioned on his playlist last spring that my kid went to (has since graduated from) Bard, where they are resident, and he posted back that he was hoping to get them on his show come autumn. Really hoping some of that set will make it onto the FMA.

Right. And in my experience people in the NL speak English as well as people in the US. |

DavidD:
English comes in through all the media. But i enjoy reading books in the original language so i pick up my vocabulary from there. The funny thing i observed is when you hear Dutch people speak English a lot of Dutch is used when they don't recall the English word. I think that must sound very foreign to a native speaker.

I've spent a lot of time in Amsterdam, and my funny story is this: I would walk up to someone on the street to ask directions, and I'd say, "Do you speak English?" And every time, they'd say, "Just a little." And then they'd speak perfect English. |

That is strange Dutch people aren't known for their modesty in these parts. My first reaction was then you probably met a belgian or a tourist.
