The passersby are demanding more Bachata! I guess these gals ain't drunk enough if they can't boogie down to Michael Gira!
  7:54pm

Only two songs from Gira? That's bullshit
  7:55pm
Gira:

Agreed
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm

We only had permission to record 2 songs unfortunately. Sounded great, though!
  7:59pm

Well WFMU needs to be more subversive and provide gummie bears next time.

Ah, good old fashioned bribery... duly noted!

Whoever's singing harmony should get equal billing IMO.

that chick is so hot
  8:24pm

Needless to say, first time I heard SVE was on WFMU... "Save Yourself", must have been a year or more back, completely knocked out about 1 minute into the track.
  8:26pm
kat330:

OD did you hear The Cure set last night?
  8:27pm
jason:

i was hoping you'd ask, kat330! those are promotional hats for a brand.
  8:27pm
other david:

@kat330, damn right I did - they were fantastic :)

Serpents <3

Christ I wish the first song I wrote on electric guitar had been this good...
  8:28pm
kat330:

Ah, leave it to me to step into a promotion trap.
  8:30pm
kat330:

Are you aware of the entire set list? I can post it if anyone's interested and it isn't annoying. (I never know since nothing I ask or say to the team overseas gets replied to.) Oh, and yes, I am quite enjoying this SVE.

kat330:

THREE fucking encores, NINE songs in encore dos! Damn, Bas hit the jackpot! :)
  8:40pm
other david:

Aw damn, that would have been amazing.

I've only seen them live once, at a festival, and the audience was awful - unenthusiastic & dour, so there were no multiple encores. It's part of the reason I dont go to festivals here anymore - same thing with Nick Cave, saw him at another festival, put on a great show, audience was terrible.

Had a whole heap of songs on their setlist they didnt bother playing. Rabble rabble!
  8:41pm
the glowing one:

that's more than some bands play a whole night. well, the cure sure had a good time it seems.
  8:43pm
kat330:

It completely shocked me when I found the list online. I know the guys were saying it was like a 3-hr. concert, but it didn't connect until I saw that list. Just wish I could've heard Lullaby. The sound was remarkable through our Allegro box. [for the umpteenth time, again thanks FMU team!]
  8:48pm

I know I'm a little late to the game here, but can you tell me who's in the topmost photo sporting I'm A Prog Addict t-shirts? Also a place to order them (the t-shirts, not the prog nerds!) Thx WJ

Hello Primavera DJs and all!

@kat330: nice to know that The Cure played a few songs from The Top again, one of my fave pop albums of all times.
  8:51pm
kat330:

You didn't hear the set last night? You should hit the archives for those first 12 of the set if you didn't. Really wonderful.
  8:54pm
kat330:

What's he snipping with that scissors sound I wonder.
  8:55pm
Philo Gristle:

With all the jungle sounds I keep expecting Martin Denny to pop up and start doing "Quiet Village."

  9:55pm
Marc:

i listen to Nachum Segal when i'm off from work. he was on his show friday. He's on the radio.. 6AM-9AM.
  9:56pm
Marc:

Todd Bartholomew Adams.
  9:59pm
Ike:

@Marc, a LOT of people here only listen to FMU online, so they have never had the, um, pleasure of hearing Nachum and JM in the AM. Actually, the last few times I caught brief bits of it, I was surprised that the music seems to have improved a lot since the 90s. It used to be truly awful, but in a dismal mediocre way, not in a fun, Incorrect Music kind of way.
  10:01pm
Marc:

OHH, ok. i'm sorry.:/ I realize that now that you said it. Sorry again.
  10:04pm
Ike:

(??) It's all good. No skin off my knishes.

Anyway, this Demdike Stare is really killer.
  10:04pm

  10:06pm
Andrew Waterloo:

@Ike, it certainly was
  10:06pm
Lydia:

Anyone know if The Pop Group set will be archived???
  10:09pm
BT:

It will indeed. This is ruling.
  10:09pm
groucho:

the TBA is Rufus Wainwright* ... *pure speculation. seriously though, I hope it's Mazzy Star
  10:09pm
Marc:

Dr. Zhivago?
  10:10pm
Looms (aka Copycat):

Anyone know if the full length Michael Gira's set will be archived???
  10:11pm
BT:

it wont, we were allowed 2 songs total.
  10:11pm
Looms:

:(
  10:12pm
Marmalade Kitty:

anyone else think TBA was a band ?
  10:12pm
groucho:

it's gonna be Kings OF Convenience. hella yeah
  10:12pm
seang:

i think TBA is James Brown
  10:16pm
Marc:

What about the CURE from last night, will it be up on the FMA?
  10:17pm
Lydia:

Great to hear, Brian! Thank you all for what you are doing! This is ruling indeed! WE ARE ALL PUTAS!
  10:19pm
Lydia:

Whether a band's set can be archived in full or not is function of how cool the band is? ; )
  10:21pm
Marc:

TBA is Sammy Davis JR.
  10:24pm
Marc:

he's doing a set with Justin Bieber.
  10:26pm
Marc:

@Lydia Well put!

The long-awaited Menudo reunion
  10:28pm

@Marc: YEAH! And Annie will appear for a wild Hard Knock Life.

I thought it was Celine Dion with Brian Eno and the Boston Pops Orchestra

  10:49pm
Andrew Waterloo:

The Pop Group sounds as good as ever
  10:51pm
BT:

Folks, we're sorry to announce the finale TBA is not gonna happen. We had to keep it open as it was being discussed --- sorry. There's a lot of variables involved with bringing these sets and sometimes it doesn't always work out. But a few of the bands are reviewing the recordings for possible airing on WFMU post-Primavera (which happened last year and became specials on specific DJ's shows, so stay tuned.) Thanks for the patience and sorry to fan any flames of people thinking Justin Bieber or Sir Lord Baltimore were gonna play. It'll be Off, then some hangtime with few archival chestnuts then g'nite.
  10:52pm
Marc:

WFMU should do next years Marathon ending Hoof and Mouth Symposium at the Primavera Sound Festival. Thats a way to get all the WFMU DJS to Barcelona.

About Matt Pike and Sleep (a possible health issue was mentioned on this comment page). News today (Monday) is that Sleep did perform the Scion Rock Fest in Tampa on June 2nd 2012. Maybe that's the explanation for the last-minute Barcelona cancelation.
