I DO Noah that Parq and Prince and this show make me happy.
  Fri. 2/24/12 4:52pm G:

My gf was on a focus group for a commercial classic rock radio station a few years ago (not in NYC). They played literally 5 seconds or so of a song that everyone knows, and the members of the focus group have to click 1 ("I'd keep listening") or 2 ("I'd change the channel") for hundreds of songs in rapid succession. That's how they determine their playlists.
  Fri. 2/24/12 4:54pm Caryn:

This is how you do a marathon show, guys!
Avatar    Fri. 2/24/12 4:56pm D. Blumin:

Sylvia, do you have a throat lozenge to spare?
Avatar    Fri. 2/24/12 5:02pm Bodahtron 9000:

My complex AI device has determined that the sounds you are causing to emanate through the internet are unique and kooky. A new subroutine recently programmed with the purpose of expanding my emotional and linguistic acuity presents to me the result that this radio show is adorably cuddly and that laughter is the appropriate response. Ha ha ha! However, my social context subroutines feed into my cognition circuit a notice that for your goal of $4000 to be reached, you must receive pledges amounting to $1800 in the next hour. As a result, a mere 10 pledges of $180 would achieve your result.

  Fri. 2/24/12 5:18pm jk:

I mean what is the grand prize?
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:19pm Caryn:

Contact with WFMU site lost for a moment, apparently due to too much traffic. I'd like to think this is because people are pledging like crazy, and listening online in droves.

noncommittal on this stuff, I'm staying but not really paying attention
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:34pm Minnesota Jeff:

Is the Whistle an over or under utilized instrument? What says you, DJKG faithful???
Fri. 2/24/12 5:34pm Mark in VT:

Well, I meant the DJ cart that Kurt has used loudly to annoy the next show. Maybe that feud is over. But cart machines are cool too.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:37pm Caryn:

@MinnJeff: what type of whistle?
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:38pm Minnesota Jeff:

The referee whistle.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:39pm kat330:

@Mark: You're from the town that's been "butchered" a few times, yes? Yay, just heard you won! I used to live in your area and worked in Montpelier.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:41pm kat330:

@MN Jeff: Well, there's a sort of interesting band local to me, Whistle Peak, from Louisville, Ky, that uses a whistle noise. Have you heard them?
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:41pm Caryn:

Hmm, I think it could be used more in certain types of songs.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:41pm Bodahtron 9000:

WFMU has not yet received a $1 million pledge. Someone who works for a hedge fund with a matching program could make that donation now.
Fri. 2/24/12 5:44pm Mark in VT:

kat330-I do get a kick out of the DJs trying to pronounce Barre. Irwin is the only DJ that I can remember that got it right. But he has relatives in VT.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:45pm kat330:

Yep, belly up to the Barre, Boise.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:45pm Carmichael:

OK, well this is certainly driving me crazy.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:46pm seang:

wicked guitar
Fri. 2/24/12 5:47pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I understand that Abe Vigoda, the actor, is still alive. That should be worth a pledge.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:48pm Tork:

No. You stream that dancing.
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:51pm $$33$$:

TASTE THE BEAST!!
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:55pm Carmichael:

Way to go, Wendy!
Fri. 2/24/12 5:57pm Adam in Portland:

Where my nascent hip-hop stars at? Pledge now to continue to hear new source material for future million single sellers. 1-800-989-9368 or wfmu.org
  Fri. 2/24/12 5:58pm Carmichael:

Sit your ass down, Petula. We need money.
Fri. 2/24/12 5:59pm Adam in Portland:
