  Sat. 9/17/11 3:10am Andrew:

Hi Bill, nice music you got going tonight ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:11am Looms:

Hello Bill! Good night/morning everyone.
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:15am Bill Mac:

morning gents! You're a wee bit earlier this morning than usual, which is a good thing
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:25am Looms:

Fell asleep earlier than usual last evening...
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:26am Andrew:

this song is nice, Kamuran Akkor.
Hi Looms
It's about to storm here I think, hopefully the power doesn't cut out!
Good that you are on during the day here ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:31am T-Zero:

Morning, guys.
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:34am Looms:

@Andrew: seems it's gonna be an "indoor weekend" here too

Hello T-0, how are things?
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:36am Andrew:

Hi T-zero!

This moto Moindo track is quite an upbeat dancy song. I like this stuff ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:36am T-Zero:

Oh, not too bad Looms. A couple minor gripes, but otherwise fine.

Hope you all are fine.
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:38am T-Zero:

Hi, Andrew. How's Victoria this later afternoon?
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:39am T-Zero:

Oh, nevermind. I just read you say it's about to storm.
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:39am Andrew:

well, the other song was dancy enough, but now i want to rock out. Erotica, mmm good groove to it.

Was really warm earlier but now the clouds have come over & it seems it's about to storm.
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:41am T-Zero:

No storms here, but it's been wet and cold. That's one of my gripes. lol I wanted to turn on the furnace to warm up some, but it's not working. :(
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:42am jamief:

jeees Bill it's 8.30 am here in the UK....that Man track is just way tooooo early...or late, depending on your perspective :)
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:44am Looms:

Sex is good in the morning too
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:46am Bill Mac:

Weather is good here, finally got the summer out of the way, which I always miss... it happens way too fast too.... yeah, sorry Jamie, I was aware that there was some moaning on that track, just didn't think it was going to enter into "moving furniture" territory. I was also trying to carry on a serious conversation here while she was... uh.... busy....
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:47am Bill Mac:

I admire your enthusiasm Mr Looms...
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:49am mgmg:

That's what she said ....
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:50am Marmalade Kitty:

Hello Bill & all!
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:51am Bill Mac:

Kitty & mgmg in the house!
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:53am Andrew:

Hi mgmg & Marmalade Kitty!
This Overtones song is good. Ah, I love the organs in orbit ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 3:55am Looms:

Hello fellas!
Okay Bill, let's talk about snail racing :)
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:02am Andrew:

Man made me think of a Cd I saw in a discount shop a few months ago...I finally remembered what it was called ManChild
http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/manchild__70s_soul_/power_and_love/
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:03am Looms:

Phurpa was impressive.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:05am Andrew:

Good to hear you talk about the music though ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:05am T-Zero:

Andrew, not in the same style of music, but Ramirez does a deep house song called "Orgasmico" which is heavy on the "sex sounds". It's on the Terapia CD.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:06am mgmg:

in the 70's there was the Sizzler Dress... it was very short and had a matching pair of panties
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:08am Bill Mac:

Thanks Andrew... Always good to trade info with you guys.... YES!!! the sizzler dress!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:11am Looms:

Gh├ędalia Tazart├Ęs speaks a lot about sex (and booze) on his Ante-Mortem album but it seems that no copy was sent to the station.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:12am Bill Mac:

He's a mixed bag....
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:13am duschan:

aaaaah, beautiful sound for a sunny morning in Serbia!! Hello Bill, Hello people!! All the best to all of you!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:14am Andrew:

In the 20s there was this?

(the link was from this link from inflatable squirrel carcass)

hi duschan!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:15am Bill Mac:

Awesome Duschan, glad you're here!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:16am Looms:

Woohoo! Now I have to stand up and dance!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:17am Bill Mac:

Wow.... I have a pair of hip waders that would go great with that ensemble
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:18am T-Zero:

And from breaking news that makes one wonder who cares about these things... Los Angeles resident Chanel Tapper's tongue is 3.8 inches from tip to top lip but she was beat for the world's longest tongue by the UK's Stephen Taylor with 3.86 inches.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:19am T-Zero:

... speaking of snakes...
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:22am Looms:

Okay, let's pray God so that he brings us peace now - I'm a devoted listener today ;)
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:25am Andrew:

O_o
That's a jump....was that the end of the Jef Gilson track? I liked it though.

now this is a spacy version of this song.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:29am Stanley:

Hi Bill. Hi everyone. Busy message board this morning. What have I missed? Ah the Bonzos. A good start!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:29am Bill Mac:

The Samm Bennett tune truly wigged me out... how do you top that?!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:29am Andrew:

I listened to a Bonzo Dog Band earlier today, it was Humanoid Boogie. I like this song too.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:30am Bill Mac:

There were several good spots to pop in Stan.... welcome!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:31am Bill Mac:

I usually punch up We Are Normal, but the best of is indeed the best of the bonzos
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:33am Andrew:

Hi stanley.
Boswell sisters, some nice jazzy sound here. I've never heard of them before.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:33am T-Zero:

I love music from the 30s and 40s. These Boswell Sisters harmonics are fab.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:34am Looms:

Yep, excellent set M. DJ!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:38am Jay/ London:

  Sat. 9/17/11 4:42am T-Zero:

  Sat. 9/17/11 4:44am Jay/ London:

@ t-zero no something came up but there is a vid i could show you of it
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:45am T-Zero:

I'll pass on that, but thanks. Too bad you didn't make it.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:48am T-Zero:

Liken' these tunes. Nice follow on from the Boswell's.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:52am Andrew:

oh wow, Shocking Blue! I've only heard two of their songs. This is a good one too!
(i was on about the Cambodian Space Project in my earlier comment)
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:53am T-Zero:

Andrew, I hear this Shocking Blue track on KEXP a few days ago. I really liked it as well.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:54am T-Zero:

Hey, Bill, could you play a repeat of the Poor Boy track? Please.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:54am Jay/ London:

yes this is good, like this track a lot
Sat. 9/17/11 4:56am Jeff In Puna:

Hello. Very nice flow this evening!
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:56am Bill Mac:

Which track are you talking about T?
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:58am T-Zero:

The Shocking Blue song from the At Home album.
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:58am Jay/ London:

the shocking blue track
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:58am Bill Mac:

Hiya Jeff.... yeah baby, lotsa happy accidents by yours truly
  Sat. 9/17/11 4:58am Bill Mac:

  Sat. 9/17/11 4:59am Jay/ London:

  Sat. 9/17/11 5:00am T-Zero:

Thank you. Glad you got that figure out. lol
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:02am T-Zero:

Is this still BB Blunder that's playing?
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:03am T-Zero:

Nevermind. That Blunder seemed to end up somewhere different from how it started, I thought.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:03am Bill Mac:

Yeah, apparently Workers Playtime has a 2nd disk of unreleased stuff
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:04am Andrew:

oh wow, this is awesome ^_^
B B Blunder was good too, heard another track a few days ago.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:07am Bert Weedon:

We are normal and we want our freedom, we are normal and we dig........
You can still buy my books online here
http://www.bertweedon.com/video.htm
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:08am T-Zero:

Thanks again for playing Poor Boy, Bill. I love that.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:08am Bill Mac:

Bert Weedon, Englands answer to Mel Bay!
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:09am Bill Mac:

No problem, T... great album by Shocking Blue
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:11am Andrew:

I will have to get some Shocking Blue. I have an album by another Dutch band, Golden Earring, Moontan, that's got some good tracks on it.

good song this Slave March
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:19am Bert Weedon:

My pleasure, Bill. Those Bonzos boys were a bit too much for me but it did not do sales any harm.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:20am Bill Mac:

I'm trying to figure out whether they would have hurt or helped
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:22am Bert Weedon:

You know what they say 'Any publicity is publicity'.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:25am Bill Mac:

To be sure.... you probably would be totally unknown in the states if not for that line...
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:30am T-Zero:

Bill, have you had a chance to listen to any Eric Lindell since I mentioned him?
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:30am Bert Weedon:

I always had good sales in Duluth maybe it was the surfing.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:31am T-Zero:

OMG. I haven't heard taj Mahal in ages and ages.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:31am Bill Mac:

You know i haven't.... I'll make sure I do that this week though now that you mentioned it again.
Sat. 9/17/11 5:33am Brian in UK:

Mornin' Bill & friends. Bit late today, Ah Taj, Music Fuh Ya' always gets me going, that Carribean sound.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:34am T-Zero:

The John Lee Hooker is why I asked. He's been active on lables since 1996 (I think), but his Change in the Weather (2006 CD) is one I like a lot.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:35am T-Zero:

Oh. 5:34 was to Bill about Lindell, as an fyi.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:36am Bill Mac:

Hey Bri... you're not just getting back from walking the dog are you? Good to see you! Yeah, I been reading about Taj a bit so I thought I should play him....
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:38am Bill Mac:

I know, but I'd like to check him out... and quite possibly share it with the world...
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:40am Looms:

Hey Brian!

Just read about Kulanjan by Taj Mahal, sounds interesting. Does anyone know this album?
Sat. 9/17/11 5:42am Brian in UK:

You know Bill, you get days that just slip thru your fingers; well I think today is going to be one of them. Poor old dog is still waiting for a walk.
I'm reading this book at present and it makes depressing reading guess the same thing is happening over your way.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Shop-Standing-Whatever-Happened/dp/0956121209
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:43am T-Zero:

From your selections today I think you'd like him. I don't know as he's introducing any innovative new musical vision but I like him and he doesn't seem to get much airtime. (None at WFMU as far as I could find.) I first heard him on a local NPR station.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:43am Andrew:

Hi brian.
I just read about Taj Mahal on wokipedia (cos i think there's an aussie band called taj mahal?) & it was interesting to hear his take on blues & that not many black people listen to blues anymore.
I don't know any Taj albums, Looms

Blowing The Fuse is a good series with music like this Mike Gordon... the local library has about 6 or 7 of them, then go from 1946 to 1959 I think.
This is a nice song, Think of Me
Sat. 9/17/11 5:46am Brian in UK:

Looms, yes get a copy it's Taj with Toumani Diabati, arguably the greatest kora player right now. Kulanjan is a tune originally played by Toumani's dad over 20 years ago. The two players complement each other very well, the blues with African roots.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:46am Andrew:

There's no record shops in my town, have to go 2 towns over. Even the local Kmart has only about 30 CDs!

Tonights been a good night ^_^
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:47am Looms:

Thanks Brian. As I deeply love Toumani Diabate's music, I think I'm gonna try to get a copy of it.
Sat. 9/17/11 5:50am Brian in UK:

looms it's interesing to hear the difference in styles between Toumani & his dad. The latter sounds more formal if I can use that term, whereas his son is looser. Check out this for a FEMALE kora player
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b014649c
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:52am Andrew:

hmm, I just got an old Mojo CD off ebay and it's got Toumani Diabete on it with Jarabi...but I have another cd with a Diabete on it...is that his dad?
I saw a video of Canned Heat, on a music VHS, Bob Hite was a great singer, it was I Like To Boogie. Good song that.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:54am Looms:

You mean Sona Jobarteh?
And what do you mean exactly with "his son is looser" (sorry for my poor English)
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:56am T-Zero:

I heard Walking the Cow on Ken's show for the first time. I'd never heard of Daniel Johnston before then. I'm still trying to figure out what the cow is. And his voice... It's just great!
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:57am Bill Mac:

Hey folks, great time tonite.... thanks so much for all the blabber and hiss.... next week!
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:57am Looms:

Great job Bill! Have a nice week.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:58am T-Zero:

Thank *you* bill. Always enjoy your show and your mic breaks.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:58am Andrew:

Thanks Bill for a great show! ^_^
Thanks everyone for the interesting banter ^_^
Sat. 9/17/11 5:58am Brian in UK:

Andrew, Goin' Home is a good comp intro to his early blues toons. Sidiki Diabati is Toumani's dad. His album from a few years back is called Mali: Cordes Anciennes. Cut 6 is Kulanjan.
Looms I mean less formal more relax to my untuned ear does that make sense.
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:59am T-Zero:

Take care Jay, Andrew, Looms and all.
Sat. 9/17/11 5:59am Brian in UK:

Bill remember Cochises first album cover? Fold sleeve. OOOH
  Sat. 9/17/11 5:59am Looms:

Brian: yes! I think I love his work for this very reason.
Sat. 9/17/11 6:00am Brian in UK:

Nice one, Bill.
  Sat. 9/17/11 6:00am Jay/ London:

hear you all same time next week enjoy the rest of the weekend
  Sat. 9/17/11 6:00am Looms:

See you soon T-0
  Sat. 9/17/11 6:01am jamief:

great show bill
