Listener comments!

Wed. 5/18/11 5:06pm Matt from Springfield:

Wow, didn't know Billy sang his friend's song, especially the year George himself released it!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:07pm George Harrison:

Billy Preston? Name rings a bell.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:08pm God:

@Jesus> Who died and left YOU king?
Wed. 5/18/11 5:08pm Matt from Springfield:

Welcome back Tim!

Matt from Springfield, reporting in from Irwin's show. Where's the others? Did you all get lost?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:09pm Irwin Posters:

Nobody here but us chickens.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:10pm rst-wiley:

Working time lag.

Nice musical transition(s), Tim.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:11pm tim:

Hi y'all. Rainy here. Looks like the rapture will require an umbrella.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:12pm God:

I can't believe people are so goddman GULLIBLE.

Back to the drawing board.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:12pm Larry:

Rapture umbrellas! Let's design a logo!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:13pm Radio Consultant:

Good low-cost promotion there, familyradio. But after May 21st, what's Plan B?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:13pm tim:

A'ight Larry!
Wed. 5/18/11 5:15pm Matt from Springfield:

There's some peoples!

Shape the umbrellas like an upside-down ark--turn it over and you have an automatic flotation device for when the floods get too high!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:16pm Larry:

If this next one is wrong, too, we can wait until 2060! Just don't print any dates on them and we're good.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:18pm tim:

Still, we need to hope for the best, even after so many years of disappointment.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:18pm Mayan Calendar:

We just get no respect, I tell ya!

Dec. 21, 2012.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:18pm Frisco Squid:

For me, The Game was the beginning of the end for Queen. But I don't remember "Coming Soon" -- I kinda enjoyed it, thanks!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:22pm rst-wiley:

Do they check for conflicts with little-kid birthdays within the organization?
"Oh, no we can't do the next rapture on that day.. little Jimmy is turning 5!"
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:23pm Frisco Squid:

The Rapture actually happened last week. Only five people made the cut, so nobody noticed....
Wed. 5/18/11 5:23pm Matt from Springfield:

Wouldn't be Daddy's Hideaway without some Slavic music!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:26pm Carmichael:

I'm here, I'm here, OK? Pierre, what the hell does that long ass French title mean?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:27pm Parq:

Y'know, this is far from the first time in the past ten or fifteen years that a fundie nut has predicted the end of the world on a date certain, and yet I don't remember nearly this much hoopla on the prior occasions. Anybody know what's special about this one, why it's captured our imaginations so?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:29pm jaycjay:

@Parq, in all seriousness I think it's because of the growth of social media sites. This thing has been huge on Facebook, etc.. Similar predictions in the past never really became widely distributed beyond direct followers and the relatively small number of people who pay attention to such things.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:33pm Ike:

Yeah, barely anybody listens to Family Radio. This time, the publicity comes from so much mockery on FB etc., I guess. There are waaaaaay more people spoofing it and proposing apocalypse parties than taking it seriously. Plus it makes a fun theme for FMU DJs.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:34pm Carmichael:

I have a bunch of bills due next week, so Saturday is as good a time as any.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:35pm 12539:

@ Carmichael - if Pierre doesn't show up - the Satie piece is something like "Three Waltzes Distinguished by Precious Disgust - II. His Binocle." Satie's titles tend toward the dadaesque.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:36pm Carmichael:

Thanks, numbers person!!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:37pm pierre:

what long title Carmichael ??
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:39pm hopey:

Daddyesque?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:40pm Joe Voltage:

Is the women wearing the jesus t-shirt deborah foreman from the movie valley girl
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:42pm Mike East:

the family radio ads have been on the sides of buses and billboards, too. I'm not big in the social media scene, but I feel like I've seen alot more about this d day prediction than in the past.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:45pm Carmichael:

A few songs back, Pierre. Look at the playlist for the long French title.
Wed. 5/18/11 5:52pm Matt from Springfield:

Cool track. It's made me even more paranoid than before!
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:54pm Radio Consultant:

It was in the newspaper that familyradio got some believers to donate a lot of their savings for all the paid ads. Zero-cost promo for them.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:55pm Gullibled:

Well, you can't take it with you.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:55pm jaycjay:

Sure, not saying that social meda/online is the only place it's being seen, but the frenzy online is what has fueled interest and traditional media coverage. Along with, i'd also add, interest in the "apocalypse" stuff because of the 2012 flap.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:56pm jaycjay:

But really, come ot think of it, it's probably not more pervasive than the Y2K disaster predictions were.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:56pm dave:

a lotof people are giving camping ALL of their money--to be more saved than others or whatever---if only it wasnt a load of nonsense--it would be great to get rid of the christians
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:56pm Carmichael:

Or the comet behind the planet. Or wa it the planet behind the comet?
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:58pm dale:

why give camping ANY money if he's going up there with everyone else? he should give his money to us poor souls left to fend for ourselves.
Wed. 5/18/11 5:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Thanks for stopping by Tim! Always happy when I see your show on the schedule!

Now I'm moving over to the 7SD playlist--and DON'T get lost this time, people! Pick a buddy and hold on to the string together! We'll do a roll call on the 7SD playlist.
  Wed. 5/18/11 5:59pm 12539:

Thanks Tim!
  Wed. 5/18/11 6:00pm Mike East:

see you on the other side, Matt
  Wed. 5/18/11 7:02pm ex:
