The cylinder recording sounds too small - what happened?

Please - turn the volume up! The sound is pretty much small, thus creating muffling effect.

I believe the Columbia demonstation disc was from much earlier c. 1908. I think that's when Columbia started their A-prefix series which lasted until 1923
