satellite radio is boring! The only similarity is the lack of commercials, but that is hardly a comparison.

Cecile:
I miss my XM classical station now that DirectTv has changed musical providers. They had great classical announcers. And it's a genre, I have to say isn't covered in depth by 'FMU.

I don't know if you have heard of a UK based radio station called BBC 6 Music? As far as I am aware, it is the only station in the UK that is continually and consistently host to alternative music ie indie/psychedelic/punk/funk and many more genres that would never be heard or aired on any other station. Good stuff yes? ..Well no! In their infinite wisdom, the BBC's "comittment to quality" their words, they have decided to cut funding to this station as of May 2010 resulting in the untimely termination of probably the best alternative music and new music culture station the UK has ever seen. The station cost per annum is apparently 6 million pounds, the same amount that the BBC's top earning TV presenter earns per annum as an individual -Jonathan Ross.. We are buy petitioning the BBC, to reverse their decision... WFMU is a Diamond x
