Bryce and Williams sounds like a law firm or a strange kind of cocktail bitters used in the 1920's: "A dash of Bryce and Williams, some Plymouth Gin and garnish with a lemon twist. Set on fire."
Thu. 3/4/10 12:36pm
LizGig:
Ceclie, that sounds like a great idea for a new marathon premium!

Thu. 3/4/10 2:49pm
Wilfried:
Sorry for asking from France about the censorship sounds on the John denver track, but: are they imposed to you by the US law or does it belong to the record?
Thu. 3/4/10 2:50pm
dale:
scott has &*%$ed up my senses.
Thu. 3/4/10 2:53pm
Danne D:
John Denver was truly the Lenny Bruce of mellow country.
Thu. 3/4/10 2:54pm
Ike:
Wilfried -- hmmmm, how to explain? It is Scott's joke about U.S. censorship, because there are not actually any profanities on the original song. VERY FUNNY to us; John D. is so innocuous!
Thu. 3/4/10 2:56pm
Wilfried:
Okay Danne & Ike, i got the point, thanks!
Thu. 3/4/10 2:56pm
Cecile:
The censorship sounds were imposed by DJ Scott Williams.
Thu. 3/4/10 2:56pm
Danne D:
That's a good explanation Ike. It'd be almost like playing a children's song and selectively bleeping parts out to make things sound worse than they really are.
Thu. 3/4/10 2:57pm
dale:
all those party records he did. the folks would bust them out with the redd foxx albums after we went to bed. this soundtrack is gorgeous.
Thu. 3/4/10 2:57pm
Danne D:
oops - my 2nd post was entered at the same time Wilfried replied :o) Didn't mean to belabor the point
Thu. 3/4/10 2:59pm
Wilfried:
You did anyway Danne, i know who Lenny Bruce was, and your answer is a good reason to dig into JD work.
Thu. 3/4/10 3:00pm
James:
Oh My, thank you Scott and FMU for the 7". On my first of many donations this marathon.
Thu. 3/4/10 3:00pm
Ike:
Right, D.D., to belabor the point more, it's funny on many levels. I had never heard the song before Scott played it so I imagined John Denver was singing "you fuck up my senses"! Ha ha! Of course it's really just "you fill up my senses" but the beeps make it sound really dirty. Of course explaining the joke is very un-Scott-like, but that's why I am capable of driving Scott crazy sometimes.
Thu. 3/4/10 3:02pm
Danne D:
My answer might've been the first time Lenny Bruce and John Denver were put in the same sentence :o)
Thu. 3/4/10 3:08pm
Wilfried:
DD, i'll let you know if your comment was relevant to me. For now, it's... interesting.
