Boy, this guy has really got it all: illustrated histories of Rough Trade Records (his label) and Punk on the Lower East Side from 1950 - 1975 (his passion), a weird and awesome comic book that's available at comic stores nationwide, an entire album of Crass covers, and enough humility to bring down an army. Jeffrey Lewis returns to WFMU to play records and play songs about everything from Leonard Cohen's oral sex life to moving out of an old apartment.

JMFASTBFR yes, that's a nice thing, almost like being told that you remind them of Johnny Depp or something. A - totally possible but i've no idea. they'll be in town on 11/3 - 11/4 or so so make sure to go see them, etc.

Thanks; Trent, I plan to (and to stay as far from Bright Eyes as possible). Didn't mean to crowdsource my memories; it just seemed fishy. I do remember them being very good. If I, in fact remember them.
Any rate, great show (so far), as usual.

babs it's the perfect excuse to do what i always have felt like i needed to do. JMFTHSSBSDJBJ i can listen to them anytime. it's like bananarama "cruel Summer" even though it may not fit it always works.

And FYI Surfer Blood was amazing at Above the Auto Parts Store on saturday. I went on Marty MacSorely's reccomendation and rocked out so hard I literally have an imprint of a guitar monitor on the right side of my forehead. I'm not sure if I got it during their set or Screaming Females or JEFF though. Open bar and all that

i was 17. couldnt drink. tried to dance like everyone else but pretty sure i was just doing some strange version of the running man. some hot chick in a really REALLY short skimpy white dress was dancing and all the sketch thug dudes stood around her. i was scared for her.
