this "dark summer night" reminds me of a Jarboe song... can't place the title, though. Something about "come and give me what I need".

Mon. 8/31/09 9:44am From: ?

"Anhedoniac"! That's it, this melody reminds me of Jarboe's "Anhedoniac".

Mon. 8/31/09 9:47am From: AnAnonymousParty

Yep, those were the days, when you could go to the amusement park, check out the Fun House and a clown could knock you around with a wooden plank, but it all good fun and nobody got sued.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:00am From: Parq

Dog of Flanders, it's true about Marvel and Disney! Talk about "interesting times", in the Chinese sense of the phrase.

i love sweet breakfast treats!

Mon. 8/31/09 11:15am From: Harold

Did you play Minnie the Moocher? Ah, I missed it. Ever listen to Danny Elfman and the Mystic Knights of theOingo Boingo do their version? It was in Elfman's brother Richard's film "Forbidden Zone" (which they're trying to make a sequel to BTW). Good stuff -- lyrics completely changed, but for a good cause (you simply have to see it).

Mon. 8/31/09 11:15am From: Homer Simpson

mmmmm ... foooooood.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:16am From: @

"every picture tells a story, donut?"

Mon. 8/31/09 11:16am From: hmmm peanut butter!!

..... bread!!!!

Mon. 8/31/09 11:18am From: dei x

Oven at 425, 5 tbsp butter in a 3 quart baking dish. Mix 4 eggs thoroughly, add 1 cup milk or soy milk, then 1 cup all purpose flour and a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon. Mix to an even consistency, pour in to butter in the baking dish. Give it a stir or two, bake for 20 minutes - it's a hangover simple popover! Top with syrup or powdered sugar.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:18am From: annie

one of my all-time favorite books..

Mon. 8/31/09 11:20am From: still b/p

Orson Welles totally ripped off Happy Rabbit .

Mon. 8/31/09 11:21am From: Parq

Annie, that book looks great! M.A. Stamey's stuff has been leading the pack for decades.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:21am From: dei

"The Lupin from Shanghei"

Mon. 8/31/09 11:22am From: Harold

Annie (or anyone), have you read any of Eliot Perlman's work? I recently found his novel "Seven Type of Ambiguity". He's an Australian writer; I hadn't heard of him before spotting the book in a bargain bin.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:22am From: annie

parq, it's a classic... not to mention one of his others: minnie maloney and macaroni!

Mon. 8/31/09 11:23am From: stingy d

i want pie and kittens

Mon. 8/31/09 11:23am From: Harold

NM that last post of mine; it was kind of random. I'm blaming it on caffeine.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:24am From: Robby

"Ex - ter - min - ate!"

Mon. 8/31/09 11:24am From: annie

i'll check it out anyway....harold..

Mon. 8/31/09 11:27am From: Harold

Annie, it's nothing to do with graphic/comic work. In fact, I don't know why I brought it up other than that it's one of my most recent reads and I'm curious about the author's other works now. (As I mentioned, it was kinda random.)

Mon. 8/31/09 11:31am From: Harold

"I wanna job, I want a real job/one that satisfies my artistic needs"

Mon. 8/31/09 11:32am From: annie

i see it... hard to figure out the plot.. but it looks philosphy-related.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:32am From: Cecile

what's your background music?
It sounds like some kind of good Kompakt-y kind of thing

Mon. 8/31/09 11:32am From: PMD

Just stopping in for a second. Annie, apple fritters may be nice, but you know what my favorite never to be eaten more than once a year treat is? Toasted plain donut with butter on it. Heart attack central, but so good.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:32am From: That Guy

It's always my fault.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:33am From: GP

At least you were not drinking in public BW.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:34am From: annie

i was told of a fresh tomato sandwich on white bread with hellman's... oh my god...

Mon. 8/31/09 11:37am From: Harold

Why only once a year, PMD?

Mon. 8/31/09 11:37am From: annie

but what i'd love the most is a huge heap of garlic mashed potatoes with tons of butter... and the potatoes should not be whipped, just mashed so there are chunks.. there is a restaurant around here that actually served mashed potatoes as a side dish... and they are just like that!

Mon. 8/31/09 11:37am From: Cecile

It is to DIE for.
Salt and pepper, mayo. Oh, dear God.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:40am From: annie

i just this weekend got gifted with ten pounds of assorted venison cuts and a big bag of salmon.. hhmmm.. i'm hungry!!

Mon. 8/31/09 11:40am From: Devin

Me so hungy : (

Mon. 8/31/09 11:43am From: GP

Annie...Annie....start cookin...we will be right over.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:44am From: annie

yeah, i could use a good party....

Mon. 8/31/09 11:47am From: dodo

i'm a good cook.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:49am From: GP

Was this Smith Westerns song recorded this crappy ( I'm sure it was intentional>? Right now my audio sounds like I'm tuned in to a weak shortwave signal with echos, interference, etc.

Wait..it may be me..this Purple Rhinestone sounds the same way.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:50am From: Cecile

Thank you for playing Michael.
ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE ARTISTS AND PEOPLE.

Mon. 8/31/09 11:52am From: bw

Mon. 8/31/09 11:55am From: Cecile

I know.
You know unless there is a real miracle, he is retiring from live performance permanently.
