Listener comments!

First comment!

oow ooh
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:07pm bzul:

oow ooh, child, things are gonna get easier..
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:09pm Cecile:

I think any Beatles song is improved by Singing Dogs. There I said that.
Except for maybe Hey Bulldog, which is about dogs. And I love.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:10pm AnAnonymousParty:

What stipulations must be observed with regards to posting comments this week?
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:11pm Cecile:

And I cannot listen to Magical Mystery Tour without twitching as it was one of four eight tracks on the overnight shift at the Big Boy I worked at in 1979. The other three were Blind Faith, ELO's Eldorado, and New England's self titled release.

I cannot hear any MMT song without burning fat caressing my nostrils. We had to clean out the chicken fryer on our shift.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:12pm Joe:

They all must be Beatles lyrics, or anagrams of Beatles lyrics.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:12pm RSTVMO:

Last comment, whoo hoo!
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:13pm Graeme:

I worked in an HMV shop in the UK that would only play Tina Turner and Jive Bunny on rotation
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:13pm Oatman:

Speaking of Stairway to Stardom,

  Wed. 11/19/08 3:13pm zAzO:

oh this poor kid.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:13pm Cecile:

now those of us who missed it, what happened this AM? Is that OK to ask?
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:14pm Bad Ronald:

Anyone know why Ken killed the comments?
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:15pm Graeme:

If this was slower it would be a great Smog track
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:16pm Parq:

Any Billy Joel song in any form is painful, but all was forgiven when I saw CaMp CoMbo lined up for the next slot.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:16pm gumby:

Irwin thank you for making me feel like the greatest parent alive, because I do not do to my kids what Mr. & Mrs. Byas did.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:17pm Cecile:

hey, can we get a little 3rd Man Theme here? I'm in the mood for zithers suddenly.
Wed. 11/19/08 3:19pm Denise in Washington, DC:

I love Don Brockway's description of Judson Fountain as "the Ed Wood Jr. of Radio."
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:21pm Oatman:

Always love to hear the amazing Fay Lovsky.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:28pm Oatman:

While I'm not a completist, I think it's imperative I buy every album by Scala in the near future.
Wed. 11/19/08 3:32pm Denise in Washington, DC:

Maybe we can get whoever designed the logo for "A Day Without Gays" to do a logo for "A Day Without Billy Joel." The event clearly needs branding.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:35pm Ike:

Cecile and BR, I am wondering that too. I was doing actual work for a few minutes and then suddenly POOF.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:36pm Bad Ronald:

I think there were too many trolls.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:38pm Cecile:

Ike, I came in to no comments, and usually Ken's show has one of the busiest ones of the week. I figured something happened like Bad Ron said.

Sorry guys.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:47pm Cecile:

wow, this joan marie polo is kind of wild.
what's the history behind this?
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:52pm Cecile:

she has a myspace page, but it's blocked to me...

nothing else, though.

  Wed. 11/19/08 3:52pm Oatmanmanman:

Joan Marie Polo (JMP) is a project that began in 1994 with two 12 year olds from Phoenix, AZ. Those interested in examining formulas for pop music have a lot to learn from JMP as they take listeners on a journey of nostalgia, presenting skewed notions of pop music as it is understood by two pre-teens with a flair for 90's rock.
  Wed. 11/19/08 3:54pm Cecile:

helpful, I did google that before I asked Irwin.

thanks oatman.
Wed. 11/19/08 3:54pm Denise in Washington, DC:

Gotta love that site, though, helpful.

Sorry, Cecile. Me meants to nice you. Can you nice me back?
Wed. 11/19/08 3:57pm Denise in Washington, DC:

  Wed. 11/19/08 3:59pm Cecile:

No, I didn't either.
Normally, I'd be laughing. I'll have to remember that one.

Sure, Irwin. I'll nice you back if you play me some of the be-bop.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:00pm Cecile:

I'm breathing out Thai noodles, and I don't think that's the answer. Ulk.

Good Afternoon Music !
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:04pm Ike:

GP, one has to wonder: Did the math questions fail, or what?
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:04pm Parq:

I remember the Chambers Brothers' father in a radio commercial for razors, or shaving cream or something. AM radio in the 60s was kinda like that.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:06pm GP:

I don't know but that was weird..but you could kind of see it coming..the comments kept getting more random and probably abusive + Ken was sick with the flu or something...not a good combo...we will have a mystery until next week.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:07pm kay:

Have you seen my serene?
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:08pm Cecile:

Parq, I don't remember many 60s radio ads, but one I love is that Shadows of Knight potato chip ad on I think Pebbles Vol. 1.

Also, the "youth and experience" campaign ad...
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:09pm Irwin:

Carefill. Sumtimes Ken has a tuf.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:09pm kay:

...through the eye of a lens, I mean.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:10pm Cecile:

if he haz the tuf flu, it's not fun. My experientz.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:11pm RSTVMO:

Hi, room!
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:11pm bzul:

  Wed. 11/19/08 4:11pm GP:

Thanks Irwin for the Bobby Bare.

Holy crap. Despite its status as a cultural touchstone, I don't think I've ever actually *heard* "Dropkick Me, Jesus" before.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:12pm gumby:

WWJDK - what would Jesus drop kick?
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:12pm Swami:

That was not me. Breathe as you wish. Just don't stop.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:12pm Cecile:

gumby, Jesus would take the onside kick
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:13pm Cecile:

at least my Jesus would. He's a risk taker.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:14pm GP:

Gumby..LOL *snort* Comment of the day to you oh bendy green one.
Wed. 11/19/08 4:14pm Neil in East London, UK:

  Wed. 11/19/08 4:14pm bzul:

I will put hat on the list of places i must visit when I finally make it to NYC.
Wed. 11/19/08 4:34pm Now there is a voice for a newspaper:

I think Jandek is Harrys son....Harry's music is awesome, but OY that voice.
Wed. 11/19/08 4:39pm Denise in Washington, DC:

Harry Partch? I was actually doing work, and stopped to listen because I thought it was Judson Fountain.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:47pm GP:

Interesting? Got this by misspelling Partch on the Goog:
Harry Patch, at 110 is Britain's last surviving veteran of the First World War trenches.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:47pm rebeccaschmoyer:

Thanks for playing the Partch! I'm playing this Sunday in the Partch ensemble this Sunday. You're awesome.

  Wed. 11/19/08 4:53pm Cecile:

Nice thought, Denise: "Harry Partch is the Judson Fountain of microtonal outsider composers". Or is Judson Fountain the "Harry Partch of drammer"?
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:53pm Bad Ronald:

I like Jesus Christ and the Cruel Nails.
  Wed. 11/19/08 4:54pm RSTVMO:
