Hailing from Austin via Arkansas, Dana Falconberry has one of those beautiful, plain-sung voices that unexpectedly draws you deeply into every song she writes. Dana's style is simply direct, catchily embellished on her new album, "Oh, Skies of Grey," by a full band and gorgeous three-part harmonies reminiscent of the Boswell Sisters. Falconberry describes her songs as, "... darker and more complex, but there's a thread of optimism running through it that was absent from my writing before." Dana dropped by with the band to play live on WFMU. |
