Playlist for Maria Levitsky - February 13, 2008

WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

A free-range, grass-fed musical zoo, with mutts and purebreds equally represented. In other words, an ecstatic, psychedelic, danceable, hummable, moody, laughable, ontological seance of living sound and music I like. Today.

Memories of this "Touchee" thing are emerging from my mental primordal slime. Was that from the 70s? I think I might have stumbled on it back in the day.

Wed. 2/13/08 3:55pm From: Maria

Yea Parq-- 1974 is the date good memory ! this is on a rerelease cd now with original drawings by Mr Luie Himself.

Wed. 2/13/08 3:57pm From: paul

i want to be your monkey!!!

Wed. 2/13/08 4:32pm From: Michael L'Chaim

That lead singer in 'Eagles Of Death Metal' in the tune *Love Your Monkey' sound very much like Al Wilson in the original Canned Heat. Amazing how a high male voice or a low female voice could sound that magic.
I Feel Like A Monkey Now.

Wed. 2/13/08 4:34pm From: Sean Gostage

Maria,
it just get's better, I saw Screamin Jay Hawkins in a wonderful venue in a suberb of Amsterdam, Holland in 2000 or somewhere near that time, memory of the exact year is a little hazy, regards Sean

Wed. 2/13/08 5:23pm From: Bad Ronald

Maria - Is "weather" a typo?

Wed. 2/13/08 5:28pm From: Parq

Maria, coincidentally, I know a love song sung *to* a power mower -- a really tiny one. It's called "Each Day I Love You, a Little Mower".

Wed. 2/13/08 5:29pm From: maria

nay BR-- if you know me at all you'd know it is a play on words, but this time I was stuck between 2 different titles for the show and I combined them, to confusing effect Im afraid. 'weather or not' was one of them.

Wed. 2/13/08 5:30pm From: Maria

Parq-- ahah very good

Wed. 2/13/08 5:32pm From: Bad Ronald
