Guerilla Funk

New Public Enemy single feat. Dead Prez, Paris, and Kam from their great new album "Rebirth of a Nation" on fellow political hip-hopper Paris' Guerrilla Funk label. The controversial Bay Area emcee/producer (remember when his Bush Killa record got him booted off Tommy Boy?) also pops up throughtout the album which has some great songs including "Plastic Nation" (played later in this show) which examines our society's obsession with image and the culture of plastic surgery and botox etc in which we dwell.

NYC Toilet
takin the piss
Finding a place to pee for free in da NYC can be a daunting experience....There simply are not many public bathrooms. Some of the few are found in handful of parks (Central, Bryant, Tompkins, & Washington Sq) but the reality is that there simply are not nearly enough public restrooms for the New York City public. So just where exactly do all dem millions of New Yawkers pee? At home. At work. At school. At the gym. Or at the bar/restaurant/store that they are spending money at. But where to pee for free in da NYC? First place to go are chain bookstores such as the four Borders outlets or the fourteen Manhattan Barnes & Nobles (just don't push it by taking in with you -the music magazine you are reading for free). Even more common around NYC are Starbucks where they also have bathrooms for non-customers. Hotels (mostly midtown) and big stores like Macys or medium ones like Old Navy or the new Trader Joe's on 14th are good too. At some stores (eg Virgin on Union Sq.) you need to ask for a key. Same for most fast food joints (Mickey D's, Burger king, Wendy's etc) but often the homeless guys have been there before you and used up the last bit of toilet paper or (ladies note) pissed all over the seat (why can't some guys just wipe their piss up or just not do it...huh?). Transportation hubs (Grand Central, Penn Station or Port Authority) are good bets 24 hours a day but sometimes can be nasty. But if you really gotta go badly and you pee pee, or worse, poo poo in the street be sure no NYPD are around coz them fuckas will arrest and throw u in jail for that shit (pun intended). Really tho'...Hope this helps next time u gotta go in da NYC. BillyJam@wfmu.org

The Push Bin with Lou
POST SCRIPT TO A PEE by Lou Z
WFMU DJ Lou (The Push Bin) writes "I can ttotally relate to the attempts to find a decent (or working) toilet in NYC. When I lived in Manhattan I
worked all over the city as a social worker and was always on the lookout for a free spot to relieve myself. Did you know that there is a men's room at the 4th street train station in Manhattan. It's on that weird second level if you are taking the stairs
in-between the F train and the A train. It's only open during the day." - Lou Z @ WFMU
