The lazy calm at the week's start. A few live performances included, but mainly music with an ear tilted toward string-driven things.

Live performance by The Chapin Sisters |
The Chapin Sisters, a sweet folk trio with gorgeous three-part harmonies dropped by to tape a live set for WFMU. Abigail and Lilly Chapin and Jessica Craven, are singing sisters who share the same mom. In addition to singing great three-part harmonies, The trio talked about growing up in a famous musical family. |

![]() Live performance and chat with Billy Bragg |
Acclaimed Brit-rocker/ activist Billy Bragg joined Irene on WFMU for a most engaging hour, chatting and playing a few live tunes. Infamous for his rambling 'raps' during the show, tackling everything from the failings of New Labour, to love, incontinence and Morrissey, Billy had just released a massive retrospective box set on the Yep Roc label. Bragg dropped by WFMU for some post-Marathon fun. |
