"Gods & Monsters" © 2018

I don’t believe in gods & monsters
I don’t believe in the afterlife
I don’t believe in the heart of darkness
Or even in the inner light

I don’t believe a word you’ve spoken
I don’t believe anything you say
I don’t believe that you’ve been awoken
Or even that there will come a day

All I really wanna know is
What is truth

I don’t believe what I see on TV
I don’t believe the fucking internet
I don’t believe the half the shit that I see
Or that you think that I’m that dumb yet

I don’t believe I could give up caring
I don’t believe I’d give up on love
I don’t believe in the mask you’re wearing
Or the hand that doesn’t fit the glove

All I really wanna know is
What is truth

The opposite problem exists in the East, You can't read reporting from Poland about atrocicities in Poland. See samizdatonline. We have to hide the source to beat the firewalls. No. I meant what I said.
Everyone is beholden to someone.

Nader doesn't live in a money free society last I checked so while he may not be "swayed" by it as much as someone else, he still requires it to put out his product as does anyone else.

It's just a different level of influence.

As for First Amendment..either we want freedom of speech or we don't.
No such thing as only freedom to say or read things I agree with.

Discussion vs. argument is something I've always tried to live by..I see less & less of discussion these days.

Good morning, all!

@fred: Sorry to hear you're getting ocular migraines. I used to get them for years. Went to a neurologist and ophthalmologist. Long story short: They were triggered by stress and fatigue, mostly from changes in the prescription of my eyeglasses. I've been free of the ocular migraines for years now. I have other issues with my vision, but that's that.

Oh, my neuro doc gave me a sample of a migraine medication, but that only shortened the duration of the ocular migraine AND made me 10x more exhausted than I usually was after the ocular migraine without medication. That's another thing. Are you tired after the scintillating scotoma?

no..honestly.... I'm much too busy with medical issues around here to follow / watch much of anything.

The hours between 6&9 am EST are my only down time...usually spent with WFMU

I have been advocating for a rewrite of the document for many years now.

Severely outdated when it comes to modern day societal needs.

Did anyone catch the tune on GTD about 15 min ago? It was before alasdair Roberts. Romesh something? - singer sounded similar to esma redzepova and selda bagçan. Wrong channel I know but no chat on there!

Alert. Today. 4pm. A pay what you wish film / live thing at Lincoln center, nyc-

Summer for the City The Ephemeral Cinema of Sam Green A Thousand Thoughts With the Kronos Quartet
• Alice Tully Hall • Lincoln Center Plaza • New York, NY
Presented in association with Film at Lincoln Center
A live documentary with the Kronos Quartet
Written and Directed by Sam Green and Joe Bini
Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Sam Green brings his "live cinema documentary" masterpieces together for the first time, featuring his signature mix of live music and narration teeming with deeply moving insights on the human condition. The "Triple Feature" includes the globally acclaimed 32 Sounds (2022) with JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN), The Love Song of R. Buckminster Fuller (2012) with Yo La Tengo, and A Thousand Thoughts, a live documentary with the Kronos Quartet (2018) performed for the final time in New York City, and featuring the final NYC performances of members Hank Dutt and John...

… Green will narrate the piece live onstage while the Kronos Quartet performs the score, and a rich blend of archival footage, photos, and interviews with members of the Kronos Quartet-as well as longtime collaborators like Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Terry Riley, Tanya Tagaq, Steve Reich-unspools on screen.
The magic of cinema combines with the energy and urgency of live performance to create incredibly rich moments that remind us of the value in the unique, the handcrafted, the ephemeral, and something that is never

I like Jon Stewart (he’s funny and witty and smart and mentally quick on his feet) but sometimes I wonder if the same things Bill Maher gets criticized for applies to Stewart as well (as in when Bill Burr recently said he was equivalent to a fantasy football player who thinks he could really manage an NFL team). I’m generally skeptical of punditry as a profession.
