Sorry for the delay. I was getting ready for work. Great weekend: 12 shows in two days. Some really outstanding stuff in there. One favorite was Ligeti Quartet playing (you guessed it) Ligeti's string quartets. Just fantastic to watch. The Reich last night was spectacular and nice to see him on stage at the end. Exhausted today, though, for last day of classes.

I'm looking forward to the Cactus Lee set, Joe! In recent times listener Candy-O'67 has hipped me to some real deal contemporary honky tonk, roots, blues, zydeco, etc and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. In my neck of the midwest, "roots" music tends to be of the NPR variety - polite and hokey, cosplay Americana, crap jam band bluegrass, Blues Hammer blues bands with names like Seventh Son or Loaded Dice, etc, etc,etc,etc. All this is to say I'm looking forward to the set!

I have no idea if that was true; it'd be a very weird thing to lie about, but he'd also "quiz" us with hilariously wrong bits of music trivia. Among the things I learned from him: Jimi Hendrix died in 1967, and Fats Domino is the richest Black man in America.

@Laminda in the second season they added an alien shapeshifter named Maya played by Catherine Schnell. It was part of a bunch of changes made by new showrunner Fred Freiberger who was put in charge to make the show more profitable and successful, such as making the costumes more colorful and putting more obvious romance into the relationship between the two leads. He’s also the guy seen as responsible for dumbing down Star Trek in its third season.
