He went on to play bass for Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers for five years then opened the now gone 16 Ton Studio on Music Row in Nashville before his latest venture. Partner in Sound Techniques USA. So, these explorers are travelling up the Amazon through the Brazilian rain forest. The first night, they’re sitting around the campfire and hear drums. They’re alarmed, but the guide says, “Don’t worry. Drums fine. When drums stop, then trouble.” So, the next night, same thing. “Drums? Don’t worry. When drums stop, trouble.” Then the third night (of course), the drums stop. They look to the guide in fear, and he says, “Uh-oh. Bass solo.”

I play with a guy who recently moved over to the digital Mellotron from his ancient M400 and I have to say, it’s really cool. Ridiculous array of voices and obviously way less cumbersome to transport.
