After my parents bought a stereo (the kind that looks like a piece of furniture) my dad began buying lots of cut-outs from the bins in discount stores. It was in this period (1970? or so) that I learned that he'd been a fan of big bands that played jazz (like Count Basie). He told me that the Mills Brothers were square. I didn't -- and don't know -- enough about them to respond to that comment.
