I saw Health and Happiness in NY in the 90s. I think it was at the Mercury Lounge, but I can’t recall. Richard Lloyd played with them. Butch Hancock was the opening act. It was a great show.

I've been a JM fan since the Bongos (whom I never saw) but years ago at a time I was sadly between jobs, I paid $5 for what the promoter Tucker called "outdoor standing room" for the H&H Show and stood outside the door of a tiny room in Long Valley where Rt 24 turns up onto Schooleys Mountain. It remains a fave memory.

YES! i had a friend in college who had a laugh like that -- if he laughed, and it was kind of a GIGGLE, EVERYONE laughed -- but if you saw that friend in a dark alley, or on his harley, or with his snakes, your whole body would probably go cold with fear. oh i was in baltimore during the '80s -- what a different time. the '80s there kinda started with "revitalizing" the formerly industrial inner harbor, the O's winning the world series, and then...crack hit. i still love so much about that town. (it looks especially better when you've got DC in your rearview as you head back to charm city)

i went to see the jerry garcia band there way back when, and on the way in, i see this kind of dark-haired, brooding man off the side of a path in from the parking lot. and i say to my friends, wow, that guy *really* looks like bill graham. *cue snorts of derision from my not-soon-enough-ex and friend* we get closer and, yup IT WAS BILL GRAHAM!!!!! i didn't want to bug him -- looked like he was trying to be a little inconspicuous, but my friend who had previously laughed at me for saying it was bill, walked up to him and VERY loudly said, WELCOME TO BALTIMORE, MR GRAHAM. (he kinda grudgingly shook her hand, and i was all, hey girl - this is columbia, not baltimore lol.) YEAH i was at giants stadium (remember people dropping over the wall to the field?) and foxborough, though i stupidly missed los lobos there.
