In 1977 I was a literal Boy Scout and made my way with some friends to Lower Manhattan that smoggy, muggy hot summer. We wanted to see punks because we thought they were on to something. Couldn't get in anywhere and the punk looks were subtle. Basically "not hippie".

After that, each successive unsuccessful album is on a different label as he tried to recapture lighting in a bottle on seemingly one-record deals.

In 1977 I was a literal Boy Scout and made my way with some friends to Lower Manhattan that smoggy, muggy hot summer. We wanted to see punks because we thought they were on to something. Couldn't get in anywhere and the punk looks were subtle. Basically "not hippie".
