Something about the piano (kind of Weimar banging around) and the idea of driving backwards, it just feels like being stuck in time. Flag in an iceberg or whatever. But I love that it also has the markings of upbeat pop: "Doo doo doo doo doo doo." It feels like it could have been Roxy, sung by Ferry, but it's more sinister in Eno's voice. I haven't really read much about it, have you?

Tom, that book has been on hiatus for several years now. Not precious about the form, just the people to work with (fell out with my last publisher rather due to them being unbelievably selfish and lazy). They didn't like to be told so...

@ tom tom the pipers son: It was the name of the Ensemble that featured LaMonte Young, John Cale and Tony Conrad (and others)

@tom tom The Dream Syndicate was the alternative name for Lamonte Young's Theatre of Eternal Music. Conrad was an early member.

There was a dispute between Conrad, Young and Cale, which is why the music from that time hasn't fully been released.

This is a true story: I was sitting front and center to see Gatemouth Brown many years ago. So close that I could tap his pedals if I chose. I soon realized I urgently had to use the restroom, and the aisles were tight. When I couldn't take it any longer, I jumped up to slink away, but not before stepping firmly on Brown's highly polished alligator boot. Upon return, he openly mocked me on mic for the remainder of the evening.
