↳ Black Cat @3:28
Hello, lovely!! That makes a lot of sense :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Our local railway station has a piano in it that the public can play. One evening a few years ago, I was waiting for Chris' train and randomly the thought popped into my head "statistically one of these people is a murderer." At that EXACT moment someone starting plinking at the piano keys and I almost shat myself. LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

sphincter-triggering piano sounds. Also a good album title.

WM:

"Slugs" makes me think of Slugs Saloon, a jazz club in the Lower East Side of New York City through the 1960s. The Sun Ra Arkestra used to be the house band and many of the early Free Jazz players played there. The name I'm told is a reference to Gurdjief's Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson which describes "terrestrial three-brained beings." Slugs closed down after trumpeter Lee Morgan was shot and killed by his ex-girlfriend while he was performing on stage.

1. Yes, on stage.
2. I'm a huge fan of inspired crackpots including Wilhelm Reich and Giordano
Bruno, so I should really get around to reading Gurdjieff.
3. Iconic yes. There are several important jazz records recorded live at Slugs including Albert Ayler and Sun Ra Live at Slugs. There is a pretty good article available online Remembering Slugs' Saloon, the hippest jazz joint on New York City's Lower East Side by Denise Oliver Velez.
