The connection between Re-Flex and this set is tighter than one might think. Paul Fishman led a one-LP group, Absolute Elsewhere, that featured Bill Bruford on drums. It was decent spacey synth-prog from the time that spawned Gryphon. Fishman left to form Re-Flex.

We can count this as part of his pro career or not, I guess haha, at age 18-19. -- Wiki: "In January 1968, he unsuccessfully auditioned for a place in Savoy Brown at a pub in Battersea, but he "hung around until the end and told them they had the wrong guy ... I talked my way into it". His tenure only lasted three gigs because he "messed with the beat", and followed this with a brief stint in the psychedelic rock band Paper Blitz Tissue. Bruford then spotted an ad in a music shop from The Noise, who were looking for a drummer to play with them for a six-week residency at the Piper Club in Rome, Italy. He remembered the experience as "ghastly", felt his bandmates could not play properly, and had to hitchhike back to London with his kit." He then placed an ad in Melody Maker, which Jon Anderson saw.

I think because before playlists, people would count the songs from one they particularly liked till the mic break, so going backward lets listeners figure out which song they wanted to note.

I went to Urgh the night The Cramps, X, DK's and Chrome played. I was sick and came to the realization I had been going to punk shows too long and needed a break.

I never did take a break, but it felt different after that.

It was a great visit with my sister, but I am sad to say I did not get a single knowing nod wearing WFMU swag. Erin traveled in the carrier like a champ, and almost made friends with my sister's Rotti.
@Handy it's good to be back, but how can you miss WFMU family if you never go away.

91.1 and 91.9 don't seem different than usual at my apt. in Sunset Park, Bklyn. Though when I was in a car recently, I *did* notice SUPER overdriven fuzz coming from a 90.9 pirate (in Flatbush... I think?) causing some 91.1 trouble, but they're only on the air at night. I mean, the pirates are often overdriven or overmodulated or whatever, but this was NUTS.
