grape myst reduction:

what follows is Not joking around (yet it *is* humorous)… have y’all ever been lucky enough to see an insect called a “cockchafer” in person. We have only recently been seeing them on our window screens in the middle of night when they are attracted to lights (not sure what they feed on, seems like they gather around other smaller insects). Wiki has less dramatic photo examples than some other images elsewhere - their antennae look like 🫎 moose antlers!

↳ grape myst reduction @6:33
Don't know if I have ever seen one of these! That can't be its only name, surely?
  6:37am
grape myst reduction:

The common cockchafer, (Melolontha melolontha) colloquially called the Maybug,[1][a] Maybeetle,[3] or doodlebug,[4] is a species of scarab beetle belonging to the genus Melolontha native to Europe. It is one of several closely related and morphologically similar species of Melolontha called cockchafers, alongside Melolontha hippocastani (the forest cockchafer). The adults and larvae feed on plants, and are regarded as serious agricultural pests of crops such as grasses and fruit trees.
  6:42am
grape myst reduction:

It’s fairly tricky trying to share images of cockchafers with others over social media for casual entomologists.

Akitas are for the experienced dog owner only. They need a lot of discipline and are suspicious of strangers--so a poorly trained one is a liability. Pro's are that they can be excellent company to just their immediate family, very loyal, and a good guard dog. And of course you can find a good mutt of literally anything!

persnickety:

Re slimey: I find the slugs at this time of year on our walkway to garage at night. I often can’t see them well at night - occasionally accidentally step on them. It’s really quite an ordeal to clean the slime off one’s shoe sole (& soul!). I occasionally use rubbing alcohol, & or begrudgingly utilize one of those “eco-wipes”. Then I find the other slugs immediately sniffing and gathering around the carcass or skins of its past pal. - what’s that all about ?!?!

EEL Skin Slime ! While fishing, one occasionally accidentally will catch an eel, Not recommended to remove it from hook without gloves or fish-mitt.

Hi Amanda and Jim the Poet :)

thank you again for playing Purr Elise. I am both flattered and honored to be featured on WFMU!

Just a quick message to say that it is now published here: gentlewashrecords.com...

Should be soon available on all the digital outlets as well.

All the best,

Andrea C aka GKRGY aka Aner Andros
