I'm fairly sure it's going to indicate my blood glucose lebels haven't been good - I got rediagnosed as type 1, had to switch medications, and it's not going well. I think I'll try to get to the record store in 1/2 hour. I just realized there's a new Hüsker Dü live CD.

I would say it just goes down to vocabulary/semantics: Spargelfest means festive day or party with Spargel (asparagus), Spargelzeit means asparagus season, usually between mid-April and mid/end of June. I actually live in "Spargel country": Baden. Our traditional local asparagus is white and thick and looks like penises. :-)

Found a good site here: germanfoods.org... My mom also swore by drinking the cooled down cooking water (you cook it with a dash of vinegar and a little butter): very very good for kidney function! (And peeing after asparagus actually has a characteristic smell.) OK, now you know everything! :-)
