	♥ 12:13pm drr: When Fear Of Music came out, Talking Heads already had a stamp of disapproval in our house (our mom saw them on SNL with us and was what I would describe as disgusted, couldn't believe we liked them). Fear Of Music had such a dark vibe I wasn't sure I liked it at the time. Cut to about a year ago, when my mom asked me "Would I like David Byrne?" and i had the pleasure of answering (truthfully) "yes".

Not being terribly familiar with Big Star, with exposure only 2nd hand, hearing this took my by surprise.

	12:36pm (another) Patrick in Hoboken: Oh no, John King died... thank you Evan. Wasn't aware. He was a colorful character. In the 1980s he hosted a great program called "Entertainment USA" on the BBC, which would review, well, entertainment in the USA for that week. He loved the US and gave much more insight into the country and culture than we in the UK could get anywhere else.

UV-TV formed in Gainesville, Florida, in the mid-2010s, but by the turn of the decade they’d relocated to New York City. Their first release after moving to NYC, 2021’s Always Something, was one of EFD’s favorites of that year; they’ll play some songs from that album as well as some new songs from an upcoming release. Tune in for some post-punk jangle-drone!
Wed. May 22nd, Noon - 3pm: The Prof. Fuzz 63 (More info...)
The Prof. Fuzz 63 are a three-piece family band from just north of Dallas. They’re also literally a garage band. Their garage/practice space is adorned with photos of The Cramps, among others, and singer uses an old telephone handset for a mic. What else do you need to know? OK, they’re also playing May 22 at Berlin in NYC and May 23 at Finnegan’s in Hoboken.

Fear Of Music had such a dark vibe I wasn't sure I liked it at the time. Cut to about a year ago, when my mom asked me "Would I like David Byrne?" and i had the pleasure of answering (truthfully) "yes".

In the 1980s he hosted a great program called "Entertainment USA" on the BBC, which would review, well, entertainment in the USA for that week. He loved the US and gave much more insight into the country and culture than we in the UK could get anywhere else.
