First quarter (semester?) of high school I had a bit part in the term's play, Ibsen's Peer Gynt. Best part of it was the power trio the director hired to perform the music, i.e., Grieg arranged as rock 'n' roll.

Did they play the entirety of Hawkwind's Hall Of The Mountain Grill?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Franco Twinkie:

Dean, we also read The Zoo Story by Edward Albee. If I remember correctly, it featured hot dog buns.
Avatar 12:47pm
DDDJJJ666:

That is also one of my best features
  12:48pm
Dean:

Absolutely. Since I was offstage most of the show I'd sit backstage with the band. Truly inspired direction.

They played Hall of the Mountain King, naturally, and the timbral palette was arguably Hawkwind-ish, but no. However, when I visited London in '76 I made a point to visit said grill.

Zoo Story was a very popular high school production at the time (mid-'70s). A friend of mine, who happens to be a playwright, studied with Albee. I gather he was something of a perv.

Franco, happy belated birthday. And Chresti, Happy Birthday Today. I see that I didn't add an alert to my calendar which I've now corrected so in the future I will not need to read of the bdays in the comments. The WFMU Twitter feed recently featured a long account of Berkeley's storied Rather Ripped Records. It's now a coffee shop that I pass on the way to work. At least of couple of the interviewees recounted the story of Tangerine Dream's in-store appearance. RRR famously maintained very high volume when they played records. When TD arrived, they were playing the Clash, "White Riot." Edgar Froese asked them to turn it down, they refused, and Froese walked out the door. That's a kind of parenthesis.

haha Dean...i guess you jest.
the only truth in @225 is Doja Cat has no autotune.
besides that, all music is computer programmed, and all voices assisted with autotune.

Boy George ragdoll never needed no auto-tune.

Mxter Baba, that Boy George doll looks like it gone through some wear over the years, but haven't we all as well.

I will accept autotune if it is the only instrument. Even Blixa Bargeld tried autotune on Lament, and it didn't work.

autotune's okay when it's used as an instrument...don't know if that's the best way to put it; but -not to make singing "perfect" (whereby making it infinitely imperfect)
or to "correct" the inadequacies of an okay, or a miserable singer

I guess it's time I made my all autotune avant garde album
