@Miss G Not sure if you're talking about the political aspect (which I'm not sure I'm well-versed in enough to comment on), but tonally I thought it was one of his most well-balanced-- I feel like a lot of his post-Tenenbaums stuff doesn't quite blend the whimsy and melancholy, but this one felt much more natural to me.

Seems like Wes Anderson gets dunked on almost as frequently as Steely Dan and the Eagles. My family loves Mr. Fox, but Dispatch really needed a through line.
Avatar 10:04am

The Oscar, I watched it in segments and not in the theater, so my feeling a bit sour about representations of police and student activists, maybe it was circumstantial. I love the old New Yorker and I loved the Benicio del Toro and Lea Seydoux sequence.

Good day all. Happy birthday Joe. Big snow day here in Dundas, ON. Gonna wait till it stops before I start shovelling. Great day for a cozy movie inside. I am a fan of Wes Anderson but the film I can't stop thinking about is Titane. It's got to rank with one of the weirdest, most violent love stories I've seen. If you're a Cronenberg fan, as I am, you might really dig it. Not for the squeamish however. Titane won the grand prix at Cannes this past year and is directed by Julia Ducournau, the second woman to win the grand prize since Jane Campion's The Piano. The trailer itself is pretty exciting.

Hey Andres. Me too, coffee, banana bread and WFMU. I haven't measured but it's a lot of snow and it's still coming down. Cool, you're a fellow Canadian. Are you also a regular listener to Marty's show on Sat. night?
