Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01am chresti:

Hi rich! Hi Scott! Hi inflated carcasses!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02am Mr. Pumpy:

  12:02am rich:

Good morning mr. p, chresti, spodi, grtyvr, and you!
for your eyes this week: www.stefanobombardieri.it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03am Mr. Pumpy:

spod! How ya livin'?
Avatar 12:03am spodiodi:

i'm good, mr. pumpy! howboutchaself
  12:05am rich:

spodi that was a beautiful summer day near a small, algae-filled pond and the insects were having a great time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06am Ken From Hyde Park:

Well, if the Macy's Day Parade comes back next year, maybe they'll finally get some squirrel carcass balloons in the mix.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06am Mr. Pumpy:

Relatively speaking...not too bad! I sold my house to move in with pops officially. I was supposed to close on 11/30, but it got moved back 2 weeks. I'm happy about that. More time to get my shit together! Anyhow, one less thing to worry about...and it sold in a day. A DAY!
Avatar 12:08am spodiodi:

rich, they sure look like they struck some edible gold. i'm lickin my chops. fine show/good timing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09am Mr. Pumpy:

Ken...I'm counting on it. I'm eyeing a warehouse spot out in Secaucus where we can pony up 50$ a month and finally get this project off the ground. Figuratively and the other one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am Rory:

Hi Rich, crew, heads!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am Rory:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am Chop Scott:

Ahhh--safe to turn the radio on now. Cheers Rich!
Avatar 12:12am spodiodi:

that sounds relatively great, mr. pumpy! glad it sold like a hotcake and you have a little time to get things together... we moved nearly 2 months ago, and there's still a ton to do. good luck with settlement and everything else!
  12:12am rich:

hello ken it would be very interesting to see an inflatable squirrel carcass in the macy’s parade. at the size of the balloons they carry it would probably take about 400 or so carcasses sewn together to get to that size. all those little paws and tales flapping in the wind, what a thanksgiving that would be.
  12:12am rich:

hi rory and chop scott
and mr. p congratulations
Avatar 12:13am spodiodi:

cheers, Roary, Chop Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am Mr. Pumpy:

Thanks, rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am Chop Scott:

Cheers All!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am Mr. Pumpy:

Spod...thanks, best of luck to you in your adjustment. I sold out of necessity and was pleasantly surprised with the way the housing market was looking. Silver linings...and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am Ken From Hyde Park:

I'd be amused just to see a regular inflated squirrel carcass suspended from a drone coming down Broadway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19am Mr. Pumpy:

Man...all the plans were drawn up, and I neglected to remember it has to be constructed out of squirrel carcasses as well! Back to the drawing board...bring on the rodent remains!
  12:23am phat:

Dolphy hits the spot. I used to go to sleep to this album all the time. Such a great late night treat.
Avatar 12:23am spodiodi:

every squirrel carcass has one, they say, mr p
Avatar 12:24am spodiodi:

and thanks! (we have a glut of squirrels here, as it turns out. serendipitous af, maybe)
  12:24am rich:

it would be nice to use a mix of gray, black, and red. not sure if it should be patchwork or gray/black/red stripes or gray with black and red polka dots. too many decisions to make at the moment
Avatar 12:24am spodiodi:

i got the black covered. there are two in my yard giving me the stink eye, rich
  12:24am rich:

good morning phat
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26am Rory:

Let’s give thanks to white supremacy on Thursday:D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am Rory:

Shit, sorry...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28am Mr. Pumpy:

I've had this Dolphy record for twenty years or so. I grabbed it after I heard it for the first time. One of the features for me is it sounds quite similar to some of the music on those outsider Tom and Jerry episodes. I was hooked from sound one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am coelacanth∅:

greetings rich and all
  12:29am phat:

I love Richard Davis, probably one of my favorite bass players.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am Mr. Pumpy:

yo coel...
Avatar 12:30am spodiodi:

loha coela
  12:31am rich:

you mean the gene ditch tom and jerrys mr. p? i have to watch again; haven’t seen those for years and don’t remember the soundtrack
  12:31am phat:

And Tony Williams was 19 when they made Out to Lunch.
  12:31am rich:

hello coel
  12:32am phat:

@Mr. Pumpy those Tom And Jerry's did have some crazy scores!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35am coelacanth∅:

hey Pumpyspodio
  12:35am rich:

that would make sense since gene deitch was a big jazz fan and did cartoons for the record changer: www.google.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am Mr. Pumpy:

@phat...yes, crazy TW was so young at the time! And to think he was barely 25 by the time 'Emergency!' was made. Insane! My friend Wallace Roney (RIP) would regale me with insane stories about TW and Mahivishnu and how the record companies intervened and shaped the whole thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36am Mr. Pumpy:

FuckCovid, btw. Wallace had so many more things to say. Such is life, I suppose.
  12:37am rich:

mr. p there is a documentary about him on docnyc right now:
  12:39am phat:

@Mr. Pumpy wow. RIP indeed.
  12:40am phat:

@rich I'm loving the show tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am Mr. Pumpy:

rich...thanks! That is quite helpful. I knew there was something in the works, but I only had his cell number...and didn't really feel right about knocking on the door at the house and bothering his widow. Much appreciated.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am Mr. Pumpy:

Yes...the Gen Deitch episodes were the ones that Out to Lunch brought me back to! There is some hard bop in those cartoons! The one that strikes me more than any other, The Tom and Jerry Cartoon Kit. YEAH!
  12:46am rich:

no problem figured you might need a break while your busy designing the balloon, the float, and figuring out where the nozzles should go
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50am Mr. Pumpy:

  12:53am phat:

This Bette Smith is familiar sounding and yet really unusual. I dig it.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11am Mr. Pumpy:

Killer Johnny Cash tune! My fave for some time now has been, The Beast In Me...and that was damn close!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12am Mr. Pumpy:

This pedal steel playing is bonkers!

i know a guy, rich. good thinking!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am Mr. Pumpy:

spod...I hope it's not Rudy's guy!
Avatar 1:13am spodiodi:

guessing he wont have much use for hair dye soon (i'll need to check on the red though... he probably has some, anyway)
Avatar 1:14am spodiodi:

rudy is the guy, mr P. i just hope he has some that's a little more red than what we're used to seeing
Avatar 1:14am mb:

Congrats on the quick house sale, Mister P!! Nice move. May i ask what town or county?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14am Richy4619:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15am Mr. Pumpy:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16am Mr. Pumpy:

spod...is that a picture of Orson Welles doing one of those Paul Masson ads? Either way...I love it.
Avatar 1:17am spodiodi:

hey Richy 🕊️
  1:17am pp:

wow on the LL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am Mr. Pumpy:

Vic Chesnutt has been dead that long? Sigh.

Avatar 1:21am spodiodi:

  1:21am rich:

hello rich, pp, and former sound guy. i love the the idea of the red dye running down all the paws and tails flapping in the wind, spraying the crowd. now that’s a thanksgiving.
Avatar 1:22am spodiodi:

X^D rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22am chresti:

At first, without my glasses on, I read Kitty Wells' song as "Uncles hanging from your heart"
Avatar 1:22am spodiodi:

just really lold
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am Mr. Pumpy:

spod...ha! I forgot about that. Dark Tower...I was victorious!
  1:24am phat:

I really wanted a dark tower!
Avatar 1:24am spodiodi:

haha yep :D
  1:27am rich:

i meant hello richey. hello rich is my morning greeting to myself.
  1:28am phat:

That Ai Aso just freaked out one of my cats
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am Mr. Pumpy:

@mb...no idea. I have not met the buyer. I don't think I will until the closing. I did mention a 'must listen to WFMU 4+ hours a day' clause to my lawyer, but I don't think he took me seriously. I may just have to eat it and come back to haunt them after the fact. No worries, I've already propagated several mischievous WoofMu shadows to make sure there is compliance.
  1:31am phat:

This Visible Cloaks... also made him sit up...
Avatar 1:32am spodiodi:

mr. pumpy, the ads for dark tower and paul masson were running around the same time -- confusing for a young spodi. he was great in both

to your haunting. that's thinking ahead

shortly before she died, my aunt threatened to haunt me if i let my dad's gf steal his house
  1:34am rich:

phat that’s good to know. we’ll be getting new cats sometime in the near future and now i have some potential ammunition. the last two cats did not like the yuka and yoshimi record as it had too many bird sounds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39am coelacanth∅:

maybe you should get japanese cats this time.
most of them are engineered better anyway and they have a good resale value.
  1:41am phat:

The Sylvia Hallett is freaking them both out! Lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42am Mr. Pumpy:

spod...I hope you never saw signs of haunting. Well, more importantly, I hope she never stole the house! As far as the ads go. I get it! Shit, there may as well be a game called Orson Welles, where he is large and situated like the Dark Tower, wherein the player is required to remove wine related objects from the body, lest they hit the edges and get the annoying "mnnnnttt!" sound. My point...it all blends together. Or most of it, anyhow!
Avatar 1:42am spodiodi:

coel, plus they can wave
  1:42am phat:

They really should be used to odd sounds by now. Apparently they aren't.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42am Joe D.:

this is a good jam to read Gilgamesh to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43am Mr. Pumpy:

@coel...those little rice burners?
Avatar 1:43am spodiodi:

hahahah mr p. no doubt... the wacky director game

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am Mr. Pumpy:

I just brushed my teeth to the Hallett track...I recommend it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44am Mr. Pumpy:

Pretty sneaky, spod!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am coelacanth∅:

heh, i once worked with a guy who called my old volvo a rice burner. dumbass. anything that wasn't american was a rice burner.
  1:45am rich:

good morning joe. boning up (webster not urban dictionary definition) on your sumerian during lockdown?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am Mr. Pumpy:

I was finally going to call it...and then this track?! This sounds like Qbert and Frogger got together and planned a global takeover over a bowl full of Quaaludes. I love it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am Mr. Pumpy:

@coel...I was channeling him! I was definitely going for that type.
  1:46am phat:

One of my prized possessions is a maneki neko. It does not freak out the non-ceramic cats, unfortunately.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am coelacanth∅:

nah i knew, Pumpy!
  1:48am rich:

coel if we can get a cat that can sit in the window and wave all day that’s the easiest decision we’ll ever make
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48am coelacanth∅:

cats and dogs somehow always know when another cat or dog is not real!
Avatar 1:49am spodiodi:

and mr p, she stole plenty of other stuff, but i guess that's how it goes. i declined pursuing sending her to the klink when i has the DA's ear. the whole thing has been a mess, BUT my aunt has let me exist haunt-free thus far :)
  1:49am rich:

unlike humans
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49am coelacanth∅:

rich i'd even consider having a cat if it would do that

Also considering staying on my property until 2021. I just did 11days here but had to hit the market and Home Depot. Its a can do situation that i should try to do as its getting exponentially crazy in NJ.

mb, that sounds wise and appealing.

chresti, tday has been strange to me for a while, but this year it feels more abstract, i agree -- i thought it was today for a second *shrug guy*
  2:10am rich:

and while i will miss being with my family tamar and i will be enjoying a mushroom stew, cornbread, maybe a salad or soup, something for dessert, and a good bottle of wine instead of turkey

same kinda 2-guest limit here, but we've got no stew planned, nor cornbread (i've been craving some for months, per CC's frequent mention of it)

i always ask them to tell me about the cornbread
Avatar 2:19am spodiodi:

i've been focusing on cookies lately (too much)

Thanks, Rich. By next Friday, you may have a turkey carcass for company.
  2:54am rich:

that’s it for me this week. have a good and safe week. enjoy your harvest day on thursday and avoid black friday at all costs. do something fun. question the meaning of existence. free your ass and see if your mind does follow. work at becoming the best air flutist. watch a watch. imagine the sound of your favorite stench, illustrate it with a color that is the opposite of that sound. carefully shave the cheese. and remember to shout some HUZZAHs to the skeleton crew.
