Be shaken. Be stirred. A whimsical wham-bam of exotic enchantments, sleazy oddities, pop fancies, and swingin’ slingers broadcast from Ridgewood, NYC’s very own Shangri-Lounge. Best served chilled, garnished with signature swizzle schtick.

Getting down

Avatar 6:05pm Mr Fab:

Wow, where’d you meet Elvira?!
Avatar 6:05pm Fanggg-Rila:

Hey guyzzzz!
Avatar 6:09pm StringOFperils:

Hello, deadbeats.
Avatar 6:10pm Count Fab:

Hi Fang-rila! I dig this music like it was graves.
Avatar 6:11pm Fanggg-Rila:

Count Fab, I'm waiting for you to make a sesame street joke!
Avatar 6:14pm Count Fab:

Ha, I actually have an album by Sesame St’s The Count. Gotta digitize it one of these days. It’s edu-tainment!
Avatar 6:19pm Fanggg-Rila:

lol. i definitely had a pretty good book about...counting...by the count. as a young shangri-la.
Avatar 6:21pm Fanggg-Rila:

(before i transformed into Fanggg-Rila.)
Avatar 6:26pm Count Fab:

I’ve never been to any of those fan convention thingies. Tho when some friends said they met Rusty Warren at one a few years ago, I was crazy jealous.
Avatar 6:28pm Fanggg-Rila:

i'd never been to one before. it was quite an experience. i didn't take a pic but i also saw Columbia from Rocky Horror.
Avatar 6:28pm Fanggg-Rila:

Wilford Brimley was also there...
Avatar 6:36pm Count Fab:

Ha ha, what, Wilford Brimley?! What was he doing there?
“Greetings, I am Count Brimley...velcome to Castle Quaker Oats...”
Avatar 6:37pm Fanggg-Rila:

Lolll. He was there for a reunion of the movie The Thing.
Avatar 6:40pm Fanggg-Rila:

And, it was especially terrible bc someone called in a fake bomb threat. And, so both stars/attendees had to wait outside in the parking lot for a couple hours before it was safe to go back inside. And, Wilford had to hang out outside next to Tony Cox on their electric scooters, wrapped in blankets. It made my heart hurt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Webhamster Henry:

Mr. Count Fab, some of those Count Songs may have been written by a friend of mine, Sarah Weeks.
Avatar 6:42pm Dr. Frank-n-Feldpausch:

Avatar 6:43pm Count Fab:

Hey, the ORIGINAL version of “Riboflavin etc.” Kitten Sparkles played the 45 Grave remake just a couple hours ago on his show.
Avatar 6:44pm Fanggg-Rila:

I saw he was also playing some Zacherely sound effects, so I guess we only kind of/sort of overlap a little. But, maybe in a perfect way!
Avatar 6:45pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar 6:58pm Mr Fab:

I thought that "hang em high" must be by Booker T and the MGs, but nope, just an excellent recreation of their sound. Is Memphos Black a contemporary group?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Rich in Washington:

Diggin' the spooky vibes, Fanggg-Rila!
Avatar 7:00pm Fanggg-Rila:

honestly, i dunno much. but he appears to have recorded a good deal in the later 60's!
Avatar 7:00pm Fanggg-Rila:

Thanks, Rich!
Avatar 7:01pm BC Sterrett:

Hey Fanggg-Rila, tuning in for the first time. Loving what I hear :)
Avatar 7:02pm Mr Fab:

BC, tell your buddy Herk, this is right up his (darkened) alley.
Avatar 7:03pm Fanggg-Rila:

Oh, nice! Hey, BC!!! Thanks. <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Rich in Washington:

BC, is Herk doing a Halloween show this year?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm suzyhotrod:

I think deciding on just 1 Zacherle song much be a deep serious decision for you.
Avatar 7:09pm Fanggg-Rila:

Lol, my Zacherley tiki mug is watching over me during this set. We left him many offerings.
Avatar 7:09pm Mr Fab:

That's a super cool album by The Reg Guest Syndicate. Think it was the only album he made.
Avatar 7:10pm Mr Fab:

hey Suzi!
Avatar 7:10pm BC Sterrett:

Yes, Herk is Hosting Aloha Fridays with some Halloweenish Exotica, he's hosting Lost Media Archive with some Halloween Do It Yourself and Haunted House Records, and then Herk will be playing random Halloweeness all Saturday night long.
Avatar 7:11pm Fanggg-Rila:

Woww, who is Herk?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Rich in Washington:

Whoo hoo!
Avatar 7:13pm BC Sterrett:

Herk is my other personality that used to host a show on Tuesdays called "The Clock Strikes Midnight" with lots of vintage Halloween shlock
Avatar 7:14pm Fanggg-Rila:

Oh, dang! That sounds amazing. Definitely gotta tune in Friday AM.
Avatar 7:14pm Mr Fab:

this timeslot, in fact!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm Rich in Washington:

BC drinks a beaker of bubbling, fuming chemicals and - voila! Herk!
Avatar 7:15pm Mr Fab:

Tue 6 pm is Herk's radio burial ground
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Rich in Washington:

back then, a Bela Lugosi impersonation was the Werner Herzog impersonation of its day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm suzyhotrod:

OH! Hey Mr Fab! Just saw that. FMBOO! so good.
Avatar 7:19pm Fanggg-Rila:

"radio burial ground"
Avatar 7:19pm Fanggg-Rila:

yess, sheena's jungle tomb on wfm-boo
Avatar 7:21pm BC Sterrett:

Avatar 7:22pm Mr Fab:

Actually, Herk might have been on at 5pm EST? Kitten Sparkles used to be 2 hours.
Avatar 7:23pm BC Sterrett:

I was on right after Friendly Persuasion
Avatar 7:25pm BC Sterrett:

Love these instrumentals!
Avatar 7:28pm Fanggg-Rila:

they are like a nice palate cleanser in between the vox!
Avatar 7:32pm BC Sterrett:

This is a nice soundtrack to my dinner cooking
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm Rich in Washington:

this is making that dreaded, dragging last hour of work much more bearable.
Avatar 7:36pm Fanggg-Rila:

BC, I hope you are having a nice bloody stake!
Avatar 7:36pm BC Sterrett:

Wish I could listen more at work. Perhaps I could with headphones during certain moments.
Avatar 7:36pm Fanggg-Rila:

And, thanks, Rich!
Avatar 7:37pm Fanggg-Rila:

I honestly have a hard time working/listening to music. Unless it's super dull instrumental.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Rich in Washington:

They put my in my very own Hannibal Lector cage, mainly because of the music I listen to.
Avatar 7:51pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Rich in Washington:

we moved into a new building a couple of years ago and I devised to situate myself between a stairwell and a dead storage room at the end of a hall, so no one can hear my music or frequent outbursts of profanity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm Rich in Washington:

That was groovy! Thanks for a spooktacular show!
Avatar 7:55pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks DJ Fanggg-Rila!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm WR:

Thank you for the cheese! Laters all.
Avatar 7:56pm Dr. Frank-n-Feldpausch:

Avatar 7:56pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar 7:57pm BC Sterrett:
