Other than Hendrix ... i've always been semi-anti rock solos - especially when they go around the whole band ... no dispespect to Clay but JT flute solos were a big turn off.. I love TinWhistles/PennyWhistles though - as I also prefer the the Uilleann pipes over the bagpipes - though I do like the bagpies too -- he Uilleann pipes are even more tragic....
