Małe Psy - Small dogs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm Michael 98145:

A title that brings to mind Psí vojáci ("Dog Soldiers") a favorite Czech band
Avatar 8:15pm TDK60:

Don't know a thing about Polish punk. These are some perky sounds tho.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm Michael 98145:

... and i think Wojny Gwiezdne means Star Wars
Avatar 8:22pm LambdaCalculus:

TDK, don't feel bad... I'm now learning a few things about Polish punk thanks to tonight's show!
Avatar 8:23pm LambdaCalculus:

Which begs the question: is that Polish music shop still in Greenpoint?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm Gary:

I was gonna talk about that at the break, LambdaCalculus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm Michael 98145:

I wonder if the current rightwing resurgence in Central Europe is inspiring a punk revival?
Avatar 8:30pm TDK60:

Cool that there are different styles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm chresti:

The only familiar name to me is Kryzys.
Avatar 8:31pm LambdaCalculus:

I need to find his book and read it now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm Webhamster Henry:

I dare ya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm Michael 98145:

Try us.
Avatar 8:33pm northguineahills:

I know that store!

I need that book, I walked every block face in Manhattan, 65% of Brooklyn, 40% of Queens, and 20% of the Bronx (maybe 5% of SI).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm Gary:

Henry! NGH! Yeah, you'll love it, given all that walking, NGH
Avatar 8:34pm LambdaCalculus:

Ordered a copy of The Brooklyn Nobody Knows from Three Lives Books in Manhattan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm WR:

Dude, you are on after kenzo and in the same time slot that has Neighbors Noise on Tuesdays, that alone filters the audience to those who are open to pretty much anything that they haven't already hear ad nausea.
Avatar 8:35pm TDK60:

Chresti, your name seems familiar... have we met?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm Gary:

True enough, WR, but one needs goals?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm Michael 98145:

@WR, good observation -
Avatar 8:38pm StringOFperils:

Gosh, is that why I'm here?
Avatar 8:38pm TDK60:

And no nauseating ads either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm Michael 98145:

just pure, unadulterated freeform
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm WR:

Plus Gary, you have a quality that will ever thwart you from having no audience, you have impeccable taste.
Avatar 8:41pm TDK60:

..he's got good sonic smell sense too..
Avatar 8:41pm StringOFperils:

This stuff seems compelling to me. And...what WR just said.
Avatar 8:43pm StringOFperils:

And, synaesthetically, what TDK60 said tastes like it's supposed to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm chresti:

TDK6O, I'm sure we have met, one time or another.
Avatar 8:45pm TDK60:

Yes S.O.P., this is a wonderfully varied and delectable musical menu tonight, for our listening, dancing and dining pleasure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm WR:

You may have an audience of 12 out of all the people in the world who can stream music but we are loyal disciples (LOL) I picked 12 as a random number and the when trying to think of an ending to my comment, I'm like right, 12.
  8:46pm Listener Gregory:

@LambdaCalc, that is my favorite bookstore. Also, love your name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm Gary:

Gregory!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Greetings, Gary and WFMU folx! Enjoying these weird sounds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm chresti:

Haha, WR, 12 is the magic number.
  8:48pm Listener Gregory:

First-time listener, long-time commenter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Gary:

Granny Spicy Tuna! [de la soul voice] Tweehhlvvv ... it's the magic numbah! [/de la soul voice]
Avatar 8:48pm StringOFperils:

And one third of the 12 have made this a favourite episode, so far. That's pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm chresti:

So, I'm playing "see if I hear the Kryzys song I heard before a long time ago"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm Gary:

haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm Michael 98145:

Dancing in Heaven
Avatar 8:54pm StringOFperils:

Can't stop hearing The Contortions in this stuff.
Avatar 8:55pm StringOFperils:

And Fire Engines.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Gary:

Yes! Very no wave
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm Michael 98145:

Loving this show. Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm WR:

I could continue down that christianic road (if even 1 is gathered in my name) but instead I will point out that on the night in Dallas when the Velvet Underground performed the music that was released on their '69 album there were only 2 people in the club besides the owner and his friends. Me and another guy that I would meet 5 years later when we both joined a band that a mutual friend had started. And I didn't find out he was the other paying customer in the audience until a couple of years ago.
  8:58pm Listener Gregory:

This is seriously reminding me of early Jamaaladeen Tacuma. (Any error blames on spell-check.)
Avatar 8:59pm StringOFperils:

Yeah, I can hear that. Renaissance Man LP. That slammin' kind of predatory bass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm chresti:

Wowzee WR.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm WR:

Listener Gregory, is this really your first time listening to this show? If yes, welcome and as you can see by looking at the archive, Gary plays music from all over the globe. If you were just joining in on the wacky comments, that is welcome to. Of course I'm still a WFMU newbie, so please feel free to ignore my rants.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Webhamster Henry:

"Very few saw the VU, but every one who did started a band." --- verified.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Gary:

What Chresti said. You saw VU?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

WR: that's a great VU story!
Avatar 9:08pm StringOFperils:

I was just quietly enjoying the DESTINY written in it.
Avatar 9:09pm StringOFperils:

Makes ya believe in magic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

How long til you're not a WFMU newbie? (ha ha, that would start quite the debate!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm Michael 98145:

@GST, when you really cannot stand listening to any other station?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10pm WR:

chresti, the VU played a Thursday to Sunday gig. Two sets each night. Friday was full and Saturday was jam packed. Maybe other people wanted to get sleep for work or school or whatever. I wanted to hear all i could so I was there for every show every night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

i like these sounds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Michael 98145: i think i crossed that line about a year and a half ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Michael 98145:

  9:29pm Listener Gregory:

I thought "Pajama Porn" was the name of Doug Schulkind's first band in high school?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm Michael 98145:

Where the hell else could we be hearing these tracks?? Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm Gary:

Stick around after this mess for the thrilling Dr. DJ Sam Segal's If You Lose Your Horse! He's calling this episode "Look Out for My Horse," which is ironic, since he's supposed to have one for you, in case you lose yours. But, trust me, he knows what he's doing: wfmu.org...
