@handy Sounds delicious on this beautiful day. I was out picking up bread and chives at archestratus earlier. I might add some cheese and the cider idea!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm Rob W:

Thanks Chud. Very mysterious. I can't hear it so it's hard to know how to address it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm steveo:

Heh, yeah, I have that, Jake. I have a shell alias for current song & another for current program. You may have been the one who pointed out jq to me a while ago....
      6:52pm JakeGould:

Went to Union Square this afternoon thinking to chill out in the park and head to the farmer’s market. No chance: The whole station was locked down, only entrance/exit was the 14th Street side near University place and it was all corralled in. Nothing to do but protest or get scoped out by cops.

Headed back to Brooklyn and all streets in Prospect Heights leading to the Barclay’s Center were barricaded.

And when I headed back to Bay Ridge, police are all over and the local police precinct has barricades and checkpoints. Streets also filled with remnants of charity food donated to the poor.

    Dark days.
      6:53pm JakeGould:

@SteveO: Maybe? But I don’t like dealing with work when it comes to relaxation. But what have you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm chresti:

Jake, does it have to the recent protests?
    Avatar 6:54pm Bas NL:

Any stream listeners with high pitch sound problems running Windows 10? I recently had a similar problem after a Windows 10 update.. audio got switched to 48kHz and would not switch to 44.1 properly.
      6:57pm JakeGould:

@chresti: Not too sure what you are asking but it’s all about recent protests. The food for the poor is just because of Coronavirus unemployment needs. 10x10 or 24x10x10 boxes empty now but were filled with food dropped off a few times a week.

In Brooklyn there’s a protest happening right now near the Parkside Avenue stop in Flatbush that apparently escalated pretty quick.
      6:58pm JakeGould:

The only place to assuredly relax outdoors for me now is the roof. Grab a towel, some reading and a Bluetooth speaker and roof beach it is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm Smilty69:

The Legend of the Universe is the atomic bomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm chresti:

There's been rioting in Minneapolis, protests in DTLA, on the freeway, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Was that a friend of Olga P. with that last one?
      7:02pm JakeGould:

@chesti: What is happening in Minneapolis now is not like the initial protests. Even the state and police admit at much that at this point very organized agitators from out of state are coming in to cause mayhem; not protest a death.

What concerns me at the NYC protests is that might be happening here as well.
      7:04pm Greek:

these protests need to happen; if they affect your daily routine, then tough shizzle
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm spodiodi:

    hi Rob & everybody!
      7:05pm JakeGould:

@Greek: Not complaining. My “daily routine” is staying at home and working when I have to. Just related my experience not complaining about what’s happening.

and yes, these protests need to be happening -- to echo a young woman --in tears -- i saw on the news: "It is 2020! Why is this crap still happening?"
my guess is that every sex worker on the planet has been passed a fake $20 at some point -- but you do not see law enforcement even pursuing those (usually white) upscale tricks for passing those fake bills
