I'm doing something a little bit off the beaten track on today's LoriHajiTura with DJ GeorgyGirl and giving you a selection of some of the cornerstone records of my formative years. "This is what it sounds like inside my head" as I say in the intro! Sometimes you need to look back for a little bit, say thank you, and move boldly forwards. speaking of a Catholic household. my mother's family was *strongly* Roman Catholic ~but Mom was excommunicated in the late 50s for divorcing her husband. she loved church, though & she did attend. she just couldn't accept the Eucharist.

I don't blame you Georgy, be safe! I do the grocery shopping from home- it is very challenging getting a pick-up or delivery time. Usually I have to on the grocery store website at midnight to get a timeslot. It is more stressful than getting concert tickets! I can't go into grocery stores, because I live with my elderly mom who is high risk, so I can't risk bringing anything home to her!

thanks to the silly musicians union rules the BBC TV music performances from 1966 to dunnowhen (late 70s?) are, a few promo videos aside, either live (to some extent) or unique recordings. Plenty of treasures there, as well as the radio sessions (also thanks to the musicians union's "needle time" restrictions for the radio from early 60s)

During my parents VERY long engagement, my mother dumped my father (a five year engagement ..he was dragging his heels) and she briefly dated Donovan.
Fast forward to the early 70s and every time my parents had an argument. my mother would put a Donovan record on VERY LOUD and just glare at my father ;-)
