Hey folks, for anyone who really wants to show some support for Fabio, let me urge you to head over to the GoFundMe effort for his shop, Earwax Records, which is facing some difficult times right now. Earwax has long been an important staple of Williamsburg, Brooklyn culture, and you can read more about that on the page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-earwax-records

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm mariano:

Oof, sorry to hear, Handy. Always hated meetings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, mAriano!

Yeah. Not feeling psychically up for this one, but resistance, as they say, is futile. Or feudal. I forget.
  3:56pm nick:

Ok I just donated! Sorry for the Olive Oil stained bills! ....... who’s next?.....
  3:57pm Benoni:

Does anyone know if there is a way to order records or CD's from Ear Wax over the internet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Heavy Chevy:

@benoni i want to know this too. i tried the other week but i don't find their listings for online sales
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Heavy Chevy:

im not on FB or IG if that's how they sell stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Heavy Chevy:

:(
  4:00pm egould310:

The opening riff for “Should I Stay or Should I Go” with crazy echo and distortion on repeat for ever. Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Itzall Gön'gett-Bettresuhnn:

Maybe on Discogs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm mrdonutsu:

I love this jamm.
  4:03pm watchpocket:

I believe you can put orders in at the Earwax Facebook and Instagram pages. Contact the store that way for more details. I also believe the store will open for you if you make an appointment. The GoFundMe page, again, is at https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-earwax-records
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Heavy Chevy:

tried discogs - no dice so far as i can tell

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Mister Dobalina:

I like your film recommendations especially if they take/took place at the Anthology Film Archive .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm brainiac:

@watchpocket: I don't believe you can post a clickable link without signing in with a station profile. Once signed in, any link becomes clickable, such as www.gofundme.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Jim the Poet:

Hey Fab great show so far
  4:13pm SDB:

Ha...was just cruising thru that Rarefilmm site...Tons on there.. What you recommend..?
"Split Image" pretty ridiculous btw
  4:15pm Shane Braindrain:

This bastard song is obviously about Boris Johnson
  4:16pm Jett:

Was that a cover of the old Sonny Bono hit, earlier?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Crudbringer:

No, Boris is a _cunt_, pretty sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Crudbringer:

Anyway, whoever this song is about... he's not a great guy. In fact, a lot of people are saying he's pretty terrible.
  4:17pm Jett:

Can't get enough of this He's A Bastard record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Crudbringer:

Thanks for updating the title on that last cut, Fabio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm Crudbringer:

was wondering what that piece was called.
Avatar 4:19pm TDK60:

Alright, back from a nap. Been behavin' yourselves?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Bas NL:

Richard Young?! Is this something new by him?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm steveo:

enjoying the show; lots of curse words on the playlist today -- excellent!
  4:19pm WM:

Fabio: Glad you mentioned rarefilmm (Cave of Forgotten Films). I have actually browsed through the entire collection. Most of the films are so obscure that even I have never heard of them, but they do have some truly great films including Jan Troell's Flight of the Eagle (1982) which I have not been able to find anywhere else. They also have several films of Robert Bresson.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@watchpocket - What brains said. On a browser on phone or computer, log in and then any links are clickable. Posting from the app, they aren't clickable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Crudbringer:

TDK60 no, we've been staying up late, cussing, smoking thin black cigarettes and rejecting the triune God!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Bas NL:

(Ah.. different Richard Young.. never mind..)
  4:22pm Jett:

They only made 75 of that Richard Young CD, it might be quite a challenge to find a copy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Crudbringer:

dang rarefilmm.com is radfresh hype 2 the maxx!
Avatar 4:23pm TDK60:

Well, Crudbringer that's the spirit. (I guess.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm Handy Haversack:

Back! That was relatively painless. What'd I miss?
Avatar 4:24pm dale:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Bas NL:

@TDK60 Yes! ;)
Avatar 4:26pm northguineahills:

Went out for a bike ride, and rode through the woods blazing my own trail, and came across a deer blind. I guess I'm in redneck territory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm brainiac:

@Handy: Pammie's still on a bummer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm Bas NL:

Last time i saw Richard Youngs (with-an-s) on stage he told he lost his inspiration a bit and i was in hopes he got back up again..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm brainiac:

@Bas: I heard he he bought her a dishwasher and a coffee percolator
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm brainiac:

He may still be on a bummer as well.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:38pm Mister Dobalina:

f*nk, this show is poppin' today!
Avatar 4:38pm TDK60:

Oh, that is Youngs, was asleep when it played.
  4:39pm Jett:

@Fabio I'm in Queens New York also, any idea where to find a copy of that Richard Young CD?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Handy Haversack:

I bet there's still going to be stuff that needs saving when that job finally kicks in, ngh. But I feel your frustration. Sorry it's still not getting going.
Avatar 4:40pm northguineahills:

this show is always poppin'....and sometimes lockin'
  4:41pm Jett:

Not a fan of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, always struck me as a real jerk, but the film might be great. Your taste in films is usually right on the money @Fabio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Itzall Tumánnio:

If you haven't seen "Death Laid...etc." you are in for a REAL treat.

Mariano, "Agitation In Anticipation Of Offspring": I'd say definitely!
Avatar 4:55pm northguineahills:

Was not expecting this to be Ron Geesin.

1/3 of the records I bought while I lived in NYC were from Earwax. I was there at least once a month.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Crudbringer:

Sorry, can somebody post the Zoom link for this meeting? I can't find the PowerPoint slide we're on...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm mariano:

Ah good catch, Handy. Fabio: kind words and support are our way of thanking you!
Avatar 4:56pm Fredericks:

  4:57pm Shane Braindrain:

Richard Young album Bad Words, sounds amazing but can’t find it anywhere on the web? any ideas?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Handy Haversack:

Crudbringer, they will be posted online after the meeting.
  4:57pm she:

hdfy has more popular films than rarefilmm. I selected movies, country.
Italy, see Fellini's Cabiria. Quality seems fine and one can select subtitles.
It looks like a more commercial w tv than rarefilmm wpop usa movies.
What's in it for fdmy to give me free movies. My data or is that the usual?

Right on -That Roman Nose piece was a maximum trip, the drumming, the looped tapey pulse, the burps. Perfect day strangeness/ sonic inversions. And Perry Robinson tune is also swinging it right. Digging all this fine drumming in this set for sure, the current Tony Irving included. Thanks for the percussive build this afternoon Fabio!

I remember this was a big hit on wmca good guys in the 60s

It stalled at number three from Eleanor by The Turtles

Oh and I have the version that has the meowing cats dubbed on top
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm mariano:

Haven't heard Art Ensemble of Chicago since I was in college. That's my fault.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm WillCrete:

@Mariano: right on regarding Perry Robinson. I always dig hearing his sense of swing. And hearing the deep pulse of the late master Henry Grimes on that cut too, ideal coordination of energies and momentum.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm chresti:

Bas, yes. I had friends that were in bands, so I saw a few shows back then.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm Bas NL:

He, he.. only 'collateral' punk experience then..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm mariano:

Just learned this a couple of years ago in my meandering around the web, but apparently back in Victorian times in Britain, there was a group calling itself the Skeleton Army who used to get into street fights with the Salvation Army. At the time the SA were a major part of the temperance movement and the Skeletons, well, they weren't too keen on temperance by the sound of it. en.wikipedia.org...
  5:39pm Theo:

Really enjoying the failures today...
  5:39pm WM:

How did I miss the passing of Henry Grimes (until reading of it just now on the comments board)? Maybe because I have not been listening to WKCR that much lately. (Did they have a memorial broadcast?)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Mister Dobalina:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm Handy Haversack:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm chresti:

Avatar 5:45pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Bas NL:

@chresti.. i should say so!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm mariano:

Might be time to revive it, coela: can use "Children of the Grave" as a marching song.
